Leatherette ear cushions provide better acoustic coupling between the ear and the headset. Since less sound escapes, the perceived volume is higher. To minimize the loss of volume, foam ear cushions are made of a special closed-cell foam, which helps improve acoustic coupling. Leatherette ear cushions provide approximately 6 dB extra output. The availability of both leatherette and foam ear cushions is dependent on the model/style/design of corded headset you are using.
We recommend you use the Jabra cord 8800-00-37 when connecting the Jabra BIZ 1900 headset to an analog telephone. Another possible solution is to use the Jabra BIZ 1900 with a Jabra GN1200 Smart Cord in position 2 or 8.
If you have difficulty in hearing the person on the other end of the line then try turning up the volume on the phone or amplifier. If the problem persists, you should consider switching from a mono to a duo headset.
If the person at the other end of the line has difficulty hearing you then try to adjust the boom arm. This is particularly important when using a noise-canceling microphone, which should be positioned approximately 2 cm / less than 1 inch from the mouth.
Yes. With the appropriate adapter you can use the corded headset you have for your telephone with your computer through the USB port.
This multi-purpose use of your headset can be accomplished by connecting the quick disconnect (QD) of your headset to any one of the following adapters: Jabra GN8110, Jabra GN8120, Jabra LINK 180, Jabra LINK 220 and Jabra LINK 280.
The Jabra BIZ 1900 Series is compatible with Jabra amplifiers and adapters such as Jabra GN1200, Jabra GN1210, Jabra GN1220, Jabra GN8000, Jabra GN8110, Jabra GN8120, and Jabra GN8210 through the standard Jabra QD (quick disconnect) interface.
The Jabra GN1900 Series is compatible with Jabra amplifiers such as Jabra GN1200, Jabra GN1210, Jabra GN1215, Jabra GN1216, Jabra GN1220, Jabra GN8000, Jabra GN8050 and Jabra GN8210 using the standard Jabra QD (Quick Disconnect) interface.
Yes, the Jabra BIZ 1900 Series feature our PeakStop technology, which protects against sudden loud sound spikes. The high-pitch squeal of e.g. a fax machine can be very harmful.
Many acoustic experts define acoustic shock as being exposed to a sound of over 135 dB SPL, but even lower sounds can damage the ears. Therefore, the Jabra BIZ 1900 Series – like all other Jabra headsets – cuts off sounds at 118 dB SPL (RMS). When used together with the digital amplifier Jabra GN8210 or Jabra GN1220 it complies to the Noise@Work regulations (EMEA only).
Most Jabra corded headsets have a proprietary "Quick Disconnect" (QD) flat connector. This will not connect to a phone without an additional adapter cable. This design allows one headset to be used for multiple purposes.
Yes, it is safe to use Jabra headsets. All Jabra headsets feature PeakStop™ technology, which protects against sudden loud sound spikes. Many acoustic experts define acoustic shock as being exposed to a sound of over 135 dBSPL, but even lower sounds can damage the hearing. Therefore all Jabra headsets cut off sounds at 118 dBSPL (RMS).
A noise canceling microphone filters out unwanted background noise. It does so by differentiating between sounds that come from nearby sources, such as from the mouth, and those from far away, which are then eliminated. Because of this, it is important that you position the noise canceling microphone close to your mouth, no further away than 2 finger widths.
The Jabra BIZ 1900 series with Quick Disconnect (QD), the Jabra GN2000 series with QD, and the Jabra GN2100 series with QD all have a two (2) year manufacturer's warranty. The Jabra BIZ 2400 series with QD has a three (3) year manufacturer's warranty.
The microphone boom arm is designed to rotate only 270 degrees to protect the parts inside for optimal lifetime longevity. The 270 degree movement can be done in both directions, supporting left and right wearing styles. For 360 degree rotation please select the Jabra BIZ 2400 Series.
