Leatherette ear cushions provide better acoustic coupling between the ear and the headset. Since less sound escapes, the perceived volume is higher. To minimize the loss of volume, foam ear cushions are made of a special closed-cell foam, which helps improve acoustic coupling. Leatherette ear cushions provide approximately 6 dB extra output.
The availability of both leatherette and foam ear cushions is dependent on the model/style/design of corded headset you are using.
To use the enhanced calling functions in the headset, you need to have Jabra PC Suite installed and running on your PC. We recommend you to download the latest release of Jabra PC Suite.

The Jabra GN2000 Series is compatible with Jabra amplifiers such as Jabra GN1200, Jabra GN1210, Jabra GN1215, Jabra GN1216, Jabra GN1220, Jabra GN8000, Jabra GN8050 and Jabra GN8210 using the standard Jabra QD (Quick Disconnect) interface.
It is possible to receive calls on either or both softphones, but to place a new call you need to select a preferred softphone. You can do this with Jabra PC Suite:

Firmware updates usually improve performance and sometimes add new functionalities to your device. To update the firmware:
Launch Jabra Firmware Updater installed with Jabra PC Suite, and follow the Firmware Updater wizard.
You can also check for updates via Jabra Control Center > Help > Check for Updates.
If using Cisco Jabber below version 9.6, Jabra software is needed to have call control.
Cisco needs to be selected as the default Softphone in the Jabra software.
Choose either Cisco or Standard softphone.
It is recommended to install Jabra software after the Cisco Jabber client is installed.
1. Install Jabra software.
2. Open Cisco Jabber.
3. Click on File and choose Options.
4. Click on Audio.
5. Set the Jabra headset as the default audio device for Speaker, Microphone and Ringer/Alerts. Click Apply and OK.

2. Click on the softphone tab
3. Under Target softphone for outgoing calls, select the desired softphone.
4. Click Apply and then OK
To get full call control you must have the latest version of Jabra PC Suite installed.
Download and install Jabra PC Suite
2. Click on the Softphone (PC) tab.
3. Make sure your screen is in Advanced View.
4. Select the appropriate softphone from the list under Target Softphone for Outoing Calls.
5. Click Apply.

A noise canceling microphone filters out unwanted background noise. It does so by differentiating between sounds that come from nearby sources, such as from the mouth, and those from far away, which are then eliminated. Because of this, it is important that you position the noise canceling microphone close to your mouth, no further away than 2 finger widths.

The microphone boom arm is designed to rotate only 270 degrees to protect the parts inside for optimal lifetime longevity. The 270 degree movement can be done in both directions, supporting left and right wearing styles. For 360 degree rotation please select the Jabra BIZ 2400 Series.
