  • People have trouble hearing me

    1. Make sure that the microphone boom arm is placed closely within range of your mouth (2 cm/1 inch)

      CQD_1.JPG
    2. If you have a Smartcord, you have a microphone amplification option(fixed, not variable) when using position 6, 7 or 8 on the device(correct setting depends on the desk phone being used)

If an adjustment of position 6, 7 or 8 on the Smartcord does not solve the problem, it might be necessary to acquire an amplifier.

FAQ - Top 5 questions

  • Is there a special corded headset for hearing aid users?

Yes. The Jabra GN2100 MS Telecoil is a high-end headset solution for hearing aid users, who gain the health benefits and increased work efficiencies associated with headsets.

Especially designed for people who use hearing aids, the Jabra GN2100 MS Telecoil is equipped with a hearing aid-compatible telecoil that is fitted to the plain side of the earpiece. The telecoil cancels out surrounding background sound while heightening the sound quality from the telephone. This gives hearing aid users clearer, crisper phone conversation that is free from interference from background noise.

The Jabra GN2100 MS Telecoil is a duo, non-stereo, narrowband headset. The microphone side has a speaker that delivers the sound. The opposite, passive side has the telecoil that delivers the sound to the hearing aid. The headset works with all standard, telecoil-equipped hearing aids.

  • What should I do when I have trouble hearing the other person on the call when I use my Jabra headset?

You can try turning up the volume on the phone or amplifier. Also, using an amplifier, such as the Jabra Link 850 or Jabra Link 860, is recommended. This enables you to turn up the volume. The use of DSP (Digital Signal Processing) can adjust sound levels to match user preferences and requirements.

If the problem persists, you may consider switching from a mono to a duo headset.

  • Are Jabra headsets safe to use?

Yes, Jabra headsets are safe to use. All Jabra headsets feature a technology that protects the wearer against sudden, loud sound spikes. Many acoustic experts define acoustic shock as exposure to sounds over 135 dB SPL, although even lower sounds can damage the hearing. Therefore, all Jabra headsets cut off sounds at 118 dB SPL RMS (Root Mean Square).

    • Is the Jabra Biz 2400 Series safe to use?

Many acoustic experts define acoustic shock as exposure to sounds over 135 dB SPL, although even lower sounds can damage the hearing.

The Jabra Biz 2400 Series, like all Jabra headsets, cuts off sounds at 118 dB SPL RMS (Root Mean Square). The Jabra Biz 2400 Series features technology that protects users against the effects of sudden spikes of loud sound, such as the high pitched tone from a fax machine.

Furthermore, the Jabra Biz 2400 USB features technology that ensures safe average sound levels, making it the world’s first corded USB headset with built-in compliance to the strict noise-at-work regulations enforced in the EU.

Used with the Jabra GN8210 digital amplifier, the Jabra Biz 2400 IP and Jabra Biz 2400 headsets also comply with international health and safety directives to protect users against the dangers associated with long-term cumulative exposure to noise.

    • How does a noise canceling microphone work on my Jabra corded headset?

A noise canceling microphone filters out unwanted background noise. It does so by differentiating between sounds that come from nearby sources, such as from the mouth, and those from far away, which are then eliminated. Because of this, it is important that you position the noise canceling microphone close to your mouth, no further away than 2 finger widths.
