  • I cannot answer/end desk phone calls via the headset

    1. ​In order to answer/end desk phone calls on the headset, you either need an Electronic Hook Switch adapter or a Jabra GN1000 remote handset lifter

      Be aware that Electronic Hook Switch is only supported on selected desk phones. If you are not sure if your desk phone is supported or you do not know how to set this up, please contact the relevant people responsible for the telephony within your company.
    2. Make sure that you chosen the correct EHS mode on the headset base during installation

       Procedure:

      1. Find the EHS setting menu under the lid of the base and select the appropriate EHS setting for your deskphone:

      Note: Please be advised that not all deskphones support EHS. In order to identify whether or not your phone supports EHS and the correct EHS setting, please refer to the phones user guide.

       

    3. If you have a Jabra GN1000, please make sure that you have connected the Jabra GN1000 correctly into the AUX port on the headset base

    4. If you have a Jabra GN1000, please make sure that you have adjusted the Jabra GN1000 to lift handset high enough, so you can get audio from desk phone

    5. If you have a Jabra GN1000, please make sure that you have plugged the desk phone handset correctly into the headset base, and connected the headset base into the handset port on the desk phone

      Procedure:

      1. Plug the telephone audio cable and handset in the base as shown below:

      2. Insert the Jabra GN1000 into the socket on the base marked "AUX":

  • I have distorted speaker sound

    1. This could be because the speaker volume setting is too high

      Adjust the volume accordingly down on your desk phone, soft phone and/or on the headset, until your find a lower, but better setting. WD_33.JPG
  • I have no sound at all in my headset

    1. Make sure that you have power on the headset base

    4. Try to reset the headset and the headset base

      Procedure:

      1. Place the headset in the headset base.

      5. Slide the battery back on.

      8. Please leave the headset in the base until at least one of the four battery indicators permanently lights up. If the battery is empty this can take up to half an hour.

  • Why is the audio not clear when I use my desk phone?

    ​The settings for the Dial Tone Switch and the volume of the microphone must match the settings on your desk phone. Refer to the user manual to set up the Jabra headset correctly.

  • How do I get rid of the echo in my headset?

    The audio level of the microphone on your Jabra headset should approximately match the audio level of your desk phone. If you are hearing an echo, the volume of the microphone on the headset may be set too high. Try to decrease the volume, one step at a time, while you are talking. As the volume of the microphone decreases, the echo will also decrease or be eliminated.

    Refer to the user manual of your Jabra headset to see where to adjust the volume of the microphone.

  • How do I adjust the microphone level?

    To adjust the microphone level so your voice is heard clearly, try the following steps:

    1. Put on the headset.
    2. On the base, locate the menu for adjusting the volume.
    3. Make a call to someone who will act as a test person.
    4. Scroll through the settings of the menu until the test person confirms that your voice is at the appropriate volume.
    5. Press OK to confirm the new setting.

  • How do I reset the connection between the headset and base on my Jabra GN93x0e?

    To reset the connection between your Jabra GN93x0e headset and base, use the following steps. Note that the base will not be restored to the factory default.

    1. Dock your Jabra GN93x0e in the base.



    2. Disconnect the power supply cable from the base.
    3. Remove your Jabra GN93x0e from the base.



    4. Remove the battery pack by sliding the back side of the speaker housing downward.
    5. Replace the battery pack. The LED on the headset turns blue for 2 seconds.



    6. Dock your Jabra GN93x0e in the base, and then reconnect the power supply cable. The four LEDs on the base flash green once. After 5 seconds, the LED on the headset flashes blue once.



    7. Your Jabra GN93x0e is now reset and is ready for use again.

  • Why does my Jabra GN9350e emit out-of-range tones or disconnect when it is close to the base?

    This issue may be due to density or interference. We recommend that you set a low or very low power mode for your Jabra GN9350e. Follow these steps:

    1. Remove the cover of your Jabra GN9350e.



    2. Use the display controls for the Range, and set the Power Mode to Normal, Low, or Very Low.
    3. Press OK to confirm.

    • How to connect my Jabra GN9350e with Aastra Open Phone 6771, 6773, 6775, 71, 73, 75, Aastra 6739i, Aastra 7434 and 7444

      Prerequisite:

      Jabra GN9350 + Jabra LINK 14201-10

      In combination with one of the following phones:

      • Open Phone 6771/ 6773/ 6775 including IP (previous name: Open Phone 71/73/75 including IP)
      • Aastra 6739i
      • Aastra 7434 / 7444 IP

       

      Connection:

      1. Plug the 1-sided end of the DHSG cable marked “blue” into the socket of your phone marked with the “headset” symbol.
      2. Plug the RJ10 plug into the socket marked with a complete “phone” symbol and the RJ45 plug into the base socket of the Jabra GN9350 marked with "AUX".

       

      Software setup:

       In the LCD Display, set the Jabra GN9350 to "DHSG" and press the OK button.

       

       

      Base setup:

      Set the phone setup switch (A-G) to "A".

       

      Microphone level setup:

      Prerequisite :

      Jabra GN 9350 + Jabra LINK 14201-09

      In combination with one of the following phones:

      • IP Touch 4029
      • IP Touch 4039

      Connection:

      2-sided end:

      Insert the RJ45 plug into the socket marked with "AUX" and the RJ10 plug into the base socket of the Jabra GN9350 marked with the “phone” symbol.

      2-fold Y-coupling end:

      Insert the 3.5 mm audio jack into the headset interface and the RJ12 plug into the bell socket of the phone. Now insert the phone's phone cable directly into the additional connector socket of the Y cable.

      Software setup:

      In the LCD display, set the Jabra GN9350 to "MSH" and press the OK button.


      Base setup:

      Set the phone setup switch (A-G) to the "A" position.



      Microphone level setup:

      We recommend setting the microphone volume in the LCD display to 7 out of 12.

       

       

      Headset answer/end:

      As soon as the dial tone signal can be heard in the headset, you can answer the call by pressing the ”answer/end” button on the headset; by pressing again the call is ended.

       

      Phone setup:

      For system software version 9.xx and higher:

      No settings are required on the phone for the use of a headset. Following the correct adaptation of the audio jack, a headset symbol should appear in the “Phone display”. If the headset symbol does not appear, please check the following settings:

      Menu> Settings> Phone> Audio Jack> Select/ Activate Headset.

       

      Phone setup with system software version below version 9.xx:

      Important: The “Force Headset” function must not be activated on the phone, as otherwise it will not be possible to accept external calls!

      Menu> Settings> Phone> Socket > Activate Headset

       
      Dial tone signal transfer/ phone setup:

      Important: The dial tone signal in the headset is only transmitted if one of the following ringtones is used, e.g., Standard / Classic / Cold River / Dooing-Dooing. > Menu> Settings> Dial Tone > Internal / External

      Should the dial tone signal transfer not work although you have setup the correct ringtone, please check the following settings:

      Menu > Settings > Phone > Internal/External, More Options

      No sound, Progressive, Beeps> all points must be set to "OFF".

      Calls being made via the headset can be connected / forwarded as follows:

      Dial the phone number > "Forward" will now appear in the phone display > now press on to the appropriate function key next to the phone display > thereafter you must end the call with the button marked "Handset".

       System:

      • Cisco Unified Call Manager (CUCM)
      • Cisco Call Manager Express (CME) from version 4.1 and phone firmware 8.3.3. When downloading (Cisco) the required IOC version will be marked.

      Remote call control is also possible in combination with the expansion modules 7915 and 7916.

      Important: The following prerequisites must be met in order to use the remote call control:

      • Voip-phones SCCP (Cisco protocols) require the phone firmware 8.3(3) and the Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) from release 3.3, 4.0, 4.1, 4.2, 4.3, 5.0, 6.0, 7.0 and 8.0.
      • SIP phones require the phone firmware 8.3(3) and the Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) from release 5.0, 5.1, 6.0, 7.0 and 8.0.

       

      Connection:

      1. Take the supplied RJ10 to RJ10 cable and insert into the “headset” interface of your Cisco phone and the other end into the Jabra GN9350 base socket marked with the “phone”.
      2. Connect the HHC adapter to the "AUX" socket of your Cisco phone and the "AUX" interface of your Jabra GN9350 base.

       

      Software setup:

      In the LCD Display, set the Jabra GN9350 to "DHSG" and press the OK button to confirm the software setting.

       

      Base setup:

      Set the phone setup switch to "B".

       

      Microphone level setup:

      We recommend setting the microphone volume in the LCD display to 7 out of 12.

      1. Insert the split end of the Aastra DHSG cable into your phone as follows: RJ10 plug (marked green) into the “headset” socket and the RJ45 plug (marked yellow) into the socket for the expansion module/ expansion modules.
      2. Plug the 1-sided blue marked end of the Aastra DHSG cable into the RJ45 adapter.

       

      GN Netcom DHSG cable:


      1. Now plug the 1-sided blue end of the Jabra LINK 14201-10 cable into the free socket of the RJ45 adapter.
      2. Connect the split end of the DHSG cable with the Jabra GN9350 base as follows. Plug the RJ10 plug into the socket marked with a complete “phone” symbol and the RJ45 plug into the base socket of the Jabra GN9350 marked with "AUX".

       

      Software setup:

      In the LCD Display, set the Jabra GN9350 to "DHSG" and press the OK button.

       

       

      Base setup:

      Set the phone setup switch (A-G) to "A".

       

      Microphone level setup:

      We recommend setting the microphone volume in the LCD display to 7 out of 12.

       

      Phone setup:

      In version 2.5.1.2000 the DHSG mode is disabled by default and must be activated via the Aastra.cfg or mac.cfg with the command dhsg:1.

      From version 2.5.2 Options> Preferences > Audio Settings > DHSG > On

      The audio mode must be set to "Headset/Speaker" in the phone settings: Options > Preferences > Audio Settings > Audio Mode > Headset/Speaker

      Remote call control in combination with an expansion keypad is not supported.

      Connection:

      2-fold Y-coupling end:

      Insert the 3.5 mm audio jack into the headset interface and the RJ12 plug into the bell socket of the phone. The extra connector socket on the Y-coupling remains free for the connection to an IP phone!

      Calls being made via the headset can be connected / forwarded as follows:

      Dial the phone number > "Forward" will now appear in the phone display > now press on the appropriate function key next to the phone display > thereafter you must end the call with the button marked "Handset".

      Connection:

      Connect the EHS adapter to the GN9350e base as follows:

      1. Insert the supplied RJ10 to RJ10 connection cable into the socket of your Jabra GN9350 base marked "phone" and the other end into the socket of the EHS adapter marked with the “phone” symbol.
      2. Now connect the end of the RJ45 to RJ45 connection cable (EHS adapter) marked in red with the socket of the EHS adapter marked with "AUX" and the socket of your Jabra GN9350e base marked with "AUX".
      3. Now connect the white RJ10 to the 3.5 mm jack connection cable marked "D" to the socket of the EHS adapter marked with "Headset/Handset" and with the Headset socket of your phone.
      4. Now connect the orange RJ12 to RJ12 connection cable marked with "A" to the socket of the EHS adapter marked with "COM" and with the "bell" socket of your phone.

      Please note that full functionality is only available when all the color-marked parts of the cables are inserted into the EHS adapter, see photo.

       

       

      Software setup:

      In the LCD Display, set the Jabra GN9350 to "DHSG" and press the OK button to confirm the software setting.

       

       

      Base setup:

      Set the phone setup switch (A-G) to "A".

       

       

      Headset answer/end:

      As soon as the dial tone signal can be heard in the headset, you can answer the call by pressing the ”answer/end” button on the headset; by pressing again the call is ended.

       

       

       

      Phone setup with system software version 9.xx and higher:

      No settings are required on the phone for the use of a headset. Following the correct adaptation of the audio jack, a headset symbol should appear in the “Phone display”. If the headset symbol does not appear, please check the following settings:

      Menu> Settings> Phone> Audio Jack> Select / Activate Headset.

       

      Phone setup with system software version below version 9.xx:

    • How do I get rid of the echo in my headset?

      The audio level of the microphone on your Jabra headset should approximately match the audio level of your desk phone. If you are hearing an echo, the volume of the microphone on the headset may be set too high. Try to decrease the volume, one step at a time, while you are talking. As the volume of the microphone decreases, the echo will also decrease or be eliminated.

      Refer to the user manual of your Jabra headset to see where to adjust the volume of the microphone.

    • Why is the sound quality of my Jabra headset poor when I use it with my desk phone?

      The settings for the dial tone switch and the microphone volume on your Jabra headset may be set incorrectly. Try the following adjustments:

      1. Make sure the microphone is positioned close enough to your mouth to maximize speech quality and the noise-cancelling capabilities. If you are using a flex boom arm, position it approximately 1 inch from your mouth.
      2. Adjust the dial tone by slowly switching from A to G. Select the setting that that gives you the clearest conversation. See the following examples of switch settings. These will work in most cases, but there may be exceptions.

        • Switch A: Avaya and most modern IP and digital phones
        • Switch B: Cisco and Avaya Callmaster 5 and 6
        • Switch C: Kirk Delta
        • Switch D: Tenovis phones
        • Switch E: Innovaphone
        • Switch F: Different phone brands
        • Switch G: Toshiba (most models) and most Dealerboards (IPC and BT for example)

      Refer to the user manual for specific instructions on how to adjust this setting.

    • Why does the person on the other end of a call have trouble hearing me when I use my Jabra headset?

      You may need to adjust the positioning of the boom arm. This is especially important when you use a headset that has a noise-cancelling microphone, which must be positioned close to the mouth.

      Alternatively, adjust the volume of the microphone on the base. Refer to the Quick Start Guide or User Manual for more information.

    • How do I reset the connection between the headset and base on my Jabra GN93x0e?

      To reset the connection between your Jabra GN93x0e headset and base, use the following steps. Note that the base will not be restored to the factory default.

      1. Dock your Jabra GN93x0e in the base.



      2. Disconnect the power supply cable from the base.
      3. Remove your Jabra GN93x0e from the base.



      4. Remove the battery pack by sliding the back side of the speaker housing downward.
      5. Replace the battery pack. The LED on the headset turns blue for 2 seconds.



      6. Dock your Jabra GN93x0e in the base, and then reconnect the power supply cable. The four LEDs on the base flash green once. After 5 seconds, the LED on the headset flashes blue once.



      7. Your Jabra GN93x0e is now reset and is ready for use again.

    • How do I use conference mode with my Jabra GN9350e?

      To use conference mode with your Jabra GN9350e, you need at least one additional headset. You can use up to four headsets per base. Use the following steps:

      1. Remove the headset from the base, and set up a call. This headset is the primary headset and controls the conference.



      2. During the call, place the second headset on the base of the primary headset. On the base, the LEDs for the phone and the USB light up. After approximately 3-4 seconds, the "online" display of the second headset also lights up for approximately 2 seconds.



      3. Remove the headset from the base, and a triple signal tone is then announced in the primary headset.
      4. To start conference mode, confirm the signal tone by pressing the Answer/end button on the primary headset.
      5. Repeat steps 1-4 for additional headsets to participate in the conference.



      6. End the conference by pressing the Answer/end button on the primary headset. A participating headset can leave the conference at any time by pressing the Answer/end button once.

      Note: The RHL setting means that conference mode is always active. The DHSG setting means that conference mode is active on a per-call basis. Conference mode is not possible in AEI or MSH mode.

    • Best practices for rechargeable batteries

      These guidelines apply to the use of batteries in general, and do not apply specifically to their use with Jabra headsets. To preserve and store rechargeable batteries, use the following guidelines:

      • Avoid placing batteries in direct sunlight.
      • Avoid placing batteries in extreme cold.
      • Do not store batteries for extended periods without recharging them, around every 3 months for most products.
      • In daily use, it is best to return the headset to the charging base when it is not in use.
      • Always return the headset to the charging base overnight.
      • Note that HD Voice/Wideband consumes slightly more battery than Narrowband.

      If you handle or store rechargeable batteries incorrectly, their lifetime may be reduced.

      After the End of Sales date, the Product Maintenance Period begins and will continue until the End of Product Warranty. After End of Product Warranty, the product reaches its End of Life date. After EOL date, a product becomes obsolete and is no longer improved, repaired, maintained or supported. The End of Life date is respectively 30th of June 2014 in North America and 30th of June 2015 for EMEA & APAC.
