  • I cannot answer/end call via the in-line call control buttons

    1. Your ability to answer/end soft phone calls from your headset is dependent on what soft phone application you are using

      To take advantage of the full optimization offered with many soft phone applications, download and install Jabra PC Suite. Soft phones supported by Jabra PC Suite will allow you to use controls built into your headset. If you are using a soft phone not supported by Jabra PC Suite, you will still be provided audio and will be able to control the answer/end function on the actual soft phone by point and click of your mouse.

      Download the latest release of Jabra PC Suite

    2. In this section options for specific devices are shown

      • Soft Phone

        1. Check that your settings in your soft phone is set up to handle the Jabra headset and supports answer/end functionality

          Answer/end functionality is supported on selected soft phones. If you are not sure if your soft phone is supported or you do not know how to set this up, please contact the relevant people responsible for the telephony within your company.
  • I have distorted speaker sound

    1. This could be because the speaker volume setting is too high

      Adjust the volume accordingly down on your mobile phone or softphone and/or on the in-line call control, until your find a lower, but better setting. CUSB_9.JPG
  • I have no sound at all in my headset

    1. Make sure that the speaker mute button is not activated on the in-line call control buttons, if the speaker mute functionality is activated via Jabra PC Suite

    2. Show options for my device type

      • Soft Phone

        1. Always connect your Jabra USB headset directly into the computer

          If it still does not work, try another(direct) USB port in the PC.

          Do not connect via a USB HUB or similar.

        2. Check the soft phone audio settings and make sure that the headset is choosen as default sound device

        3. Check the soft phone speaker volume setting and make sure it is not muted or turned all the way down

        4. Check your Windows Sound Control Panel audio settings and make sure that the headset is choosen as default sound device

        5. Check that your PC speaker mute button is not muted

      • Mobile Phone

        1. Check that Bluetooth is activated on the mobile phone, and there is an active connection between the in-line call control panel and the mobile phone

        2. Try to re-pair your headset and mobile phone

          Procedure:

          1. Access and enable headset pairing mode via Jabra PC Suite on your PC.
          2. Find the Bluetooth menu on your mobile phone. Follow the instructions for the mobile phone on how to pair a headset with the mobile phone.

  • I have trouble hearing people

    1. Turn up the speaker volume on the in-line call control button

  • Is it possible to use my Jabra corded headset on two PCs at the same time using the Jabra LINK 280?

    ​Yes, it is possible. To do this you need to connect your Jabra headset via Jabra LINK 280 plugged directly into a USB slot on one PC. You can then use the Jabra LINK 350 plugged into the second PC and pair it to the Jabra LINK 280 using a Bluetooth connection.

  • My Jabra LINK 280 seems to be unstable on Windows 7 PC when used with Microsoft OC/Lync.

  • How to connect and use my Jabra LINK 280 with Skype for Windows

    | Connection and configuration

    1.    Download and install Jabra PC Suite on your computer (required for headset call control).
    2.    Plug the USB end of the adapter directly into the desktop or laptop computer.
    3.    Plug a QD headset into the opposite end of the USB adapter.
    4.    Wait for Windows to the driver for the headset.
    5.    Start up Skype.
    6.    In the Skype main window, click Tools and choose Options.

    7.    Under General, select the Audio settings option.
    8.    Next to Microphone, select the Jabra LINK 280 from the drop down menu.
    9.    Next to Speakers, select the Jabra LINK 280 from the drop down menu.
    10.  Next to Ringing, select the Jabra LINK 280 from the drop down menu.



    11.    When you have finished, click Save.

    Important: If your program-related sounds continue to come through the headset and you prefer them to come from your speakers, please take the following steps:

    1.    Go to Windows Control Panel.

    | Connection and configuration

    1.    Download and install Jabra PC Suite on your computer (required for headset call control).
    2.    Plug the USB end of the adapter directly into the desktop or laptop computer.
    3.    Plug a QD headset into the opposite end of the USB adapter.
    4.    Wait for Windows to the driver for the headset.
    5.    Start up Sametime.
    6.    In the Sametime main window, click File and choose Preferences.

     

    7.    Select the Voice and Video option.
    8.    Next to Microphone, select the Jabra LINK 280 from the drop down menu.
    9.    Next to Speakers, select the Jabra LINK 280 from the drop down menu.
    10.    Next to Ringing, select the Jabra LINK 280 from the drop down menu.



    11.    When you have finished, click Apply, then OK.

    Important: If your program-related sounds continue to come through the headset and you prefer them to come from your speakers, please take the following steps:

      | Connection and configuration

      1.    Download and install Jabra PC Suite on your computer (required for headset call control).
      2.    Plug the USB end of the adapter directly into the desktop or laptop computer.
      3.    Plug a QD headset into the opposite end of the USB adapter.
      4.    Wait for Windows to the driver for the headset.
      5.    Start up IP Communicator.
      6.    In the IP Communicator main window, click the drop down menu and choose Audio Tuning Wizard.

       

      7.    To continue to the wizard, click Next.
      8.    Under Headset, select the Jabra LINK 280 from the drop down menu.
      9.    Under Speakerphone, select the Jabra LINK 280 from the drop down menu.
      10.    Under Handset, select the Jabra LINK 280 from the drop down menu.
      11.    Under Ringer, select the Jabra LINK 280 from the drop down menu.
      12.    To continue, click Next.

      Firmware updates usually improve performance and sometimes add new functionalities to your device. To update the firmware:
      Launch Jabra Firmware Updater installed with Jabra PC Suite, and follow the Firmware Updater wizard.
      You can also check for updates via Jabra Control Center > Help > Check for Updates.

    • How to find the firmware version of my device?

      1. ​Make sure you have the latest Jabra PC Suite.
      2. Then go to Start and open Jabra PC Suite Control Center or right-click on the Jabra PC Suite icon on the right side of the quick-start menu.
      3. Go to the Help function and click on About Jabra.... The firmware version appears.
