  • How do I activate audio streaming with my Jabra headset?

    Requirements

    The headset automatically opens the audio link on the PC. It might take a few seconds for the audio link to open.

    Note this is not related to the use of your headset with a softphone.

    You can activate audio streaming either by using the Touchscreen or by using Jabra PC Suite.

    You can audio stream to use a language program, to listen to music or radio, or even to use  transcription programs.

    Please proceed as follows with one of the two options:

    Option 1 - using the Touch Screen:

    1. Make sure your headset is not in use.
    2. Using the touchscreen display, select the PC symbol and tap it.

    3. Tap PC Audio Communication.



    4. The headset is now ready to stream music/radio etc.
    5. To close the audio link, simply press the Multi-function button once, or dock the headset in the base.




    Option 2 - using Jabra Direct:

    1. Open Jabra Direct.
    2. Click on Settings.

     

    3. Scroll down and expand the Softphone (PC) menu.
    4. Scroll down to Manual control of PC audio from Direct Dashboard and click to turn it On.

     

    5. Click Apply.

    Open the audio link for occasional audio streaming.

    1. Undock your headset.
    2. Click once on the Jabra Direct logo in the computers process bar.
    3. Use the PC audio link button to turn the audio link On/Off.

  • How do I connect (pair) my Jabra Motion to my mobile device?

    The first time the Jabra Motion is turned on, it will be ready to connect to your mobile phone. Simply follow the voice-guided instructions to connect.

    To connect (pair) to a new or second mobile phone:

    1. Enable Bluetooth on your mobile phone.
    2. Turn off the Jabra Motion.
    3. Press and hold (5 seconds) the Call button on the Jabra Motion while flipping open the boom-arm. Release the Call button when the light flashes blue.
     


    4. Follow the voice-guided instructions to connect to your mobile phone. Enter 0000 (4 zeros) if asked for a pin code.

    • I cannot hear the phone call in my headset.

      Please try the following steps:

      1. Increase the volume on your headset.
      2. Make sure your phone is connected to the headset by tapping the answer/end button.
      3. Ensure that the headset is paired to your phone.
      4. Make sure your phone is connected to the headset in the phone’s menu or by tapping the answer/end button on the headset.

    • I cannot hear music in my headset.

      Please try the following steps:

      1. Make sure the headset is connected to your Bluetooth enabled device. You may have been out-of-range (10 metres / 33 feet) of your Bluetooth-enabled device, or the headset might have experienced an ESD (Electrostatic discharge) incident.
      2. Press the answer/end button to re-establish the Bluetooth audio link. Increase the volume on your device.
      3. Make sure that your headset is charged.

    • How do I transfer my call from Microsoft Lync 2013 to my mobile phone?

      When on a call, follow this simple guide.

      Note! Your Lync client needs to support outgoing calls for this feature to work.
      Make sure the headset is connected through Bluetooth to your mobile phone


      1. Mouse over the phone button


      2. Click on Transfer Call


      A. Click on Mobile under “My Numbers” to transfer the call to the Mobile number attached to your Lync account


      B. Or, if your mobile number is not entered in Lync, click on Another Person or Number under “Other Options”


      Type the number click on OK


      4. Accept the incoming call on your mobile phone.

    • Why do I receive battery and connection status in the headset when tapping the Call button for an outgoing call?

      Tapping the Call button will provide the battery and connection status.
      To open the line for an outgoing call when connected to a desk phone or Softphone press the Call button for approximately 2 seconds, then the line will open.
      To end the call, simply Tap the Call button.

    • Why am I experiencing low range when connected to my Jabra Link 360?

      If the Jabra Link 360 is connected to e.g. a desktop computer and placed below a table, this might reduce the range of the Jabra Link 360 due to obstacles interfering with the signal.

      Wi-Fi 2.4 GHz. and other Bluetooth devices e.g. Keyboard, Mouse and Printer might also interfere with the signal.

      If you experience low range, try the following resolutions:

      •    Place the Jabra Link 360 in the line of sight toward the headset it is connected to.
      •    If the Jabra Link 360 is placed below e.g. a table, use a USB extender cord to get it up in the line of sight with the headset it is connected to.

      Note: When using an USB extender cord, make sure it supports data transfer so the Jabra Link 360 will work properly.

      Yes.  Hot-desking is the ability to connect any Jabra Motion headset with any Jabra Motion base.

      To connect any Jabra Motion headset to the Jabra Motion Office base please follow these steps:

      1. Plug the new headset into the dock and wait a few seconds.  Accept the new connection when prompted on the touchscreen.



      2. The new headset is now connected to the base.  To connect a different headset, simply repeat the procedure.

    • How do I pair up my Jabra NFC headset with Windows Mobile Phone 8?

      1. Go to Settings on your Windows Phone

      2. Go to the Tap + Send menu

      3. Switch it from Off to On


      4. Your NFC (Tap + Send) is now turned on and is ready to be used

      5. Turn your Jabra device on.

      6. To pair your phone with a Jabra device, touch the NFC area of your phone with the NFC area of your headset. The devices will pair up successfully.  Remember to accept pairing on your phone if prompted.

      Note that the NFC areas on Jabra headsets may vary from device to device. Please check your user manual to find your device NFC area.

    • How can I use PBAP (Phone Book Access Profile) with my Jabra Motion?

      The PBAP profile allows you to hear the name of the person calling announced in the headset.

      This feature is phone dependent, and you will need to allow the headset access to the phonebook during pairing. During pairing you will be prompted to allow the headset access to your phonebook.

      If access has been denied, simply reconnect the headset to your mobile device and allow access.

      If the headset has been in Power Nap mode for more than 24 hours, the headset will

    • How do I pair a new Bluetooth headset/device to my Jabra LINK 360?

      1. Remove the Jabra LINK 360 adapter from PC.
      2. Put the headset/device you want to be paired with the Jabra LINK 360 into pairing mode.
      3. Put the Jabra LINK 360 back into the PC to begin pairing automatically. It can take up to 1 minute to pair. If pairing fails, please retry these 3 steps.  

      The Jabra Link 360 is used together with selected Jabra Bluetooth headsets such as Jabra Supreme and Jabra Motion.

      Yes, the Jabra Motion accepts voice commands, offering easy access to the most commonly used features.

      To use voice commands, tap the Voice and Mute microphone when not on a call until you hear 'Say a command'.

    • How do I update the firmware on my Jabra Device?

      Requirements

      To check for firmware and update your Jabra Device you need to have Jabra Direct installed.

      For some Jabra Link EHS adapters you need a micro USB cable to connect the adapter to the PC.

      Please follow these steps:

      1. Open Jabra Direct.
      2. If a firmware update is available for your Jabra device this will be indicated on the main screen.



      3. To update or to manually check for new firmware click on the Firmware Updater icon.

       

      4. The Jabra Direct Firmware Updater will open in a new window.
      5. Select your device and click on the Next button.



      Note: To update devices like e.g. Jabra Motion or Jabra Stealth they need to be connected directly to the PC with a USB cable.

      6. Click on the Download button and when the download is done click on the Next button.

       

      7. Follow the on-screen instructions. Do not unplug your device while preforming a firmware update.

      Note: If using a Jabra USB dongle with your device e.g. Jabra Motion UC or Jabra Stealth UC it is recommended to update both the headset and dongle at the same time. The PC must be connected to the internet to download the latest firmware.

    • How do I use the volume touch-sensitive panel to adjust the volume on my Jabra Motion?

      To increase the volume in your headset, swipe your finger up the volume touch-sensitive panel toward the + indicator.  Make sure your finger covers the entire touch-sensitive panel.

      To decrease the volume in your headset, swipe your finger down the volume touch-sensitive panel toward the – indicator.

    • Why is my MS Lync optimized not the default headset in Windows?

      Although your product is optimized for MS Lync, it is not able to make your Jabra device the default audio device in Windows automatically.

      Check your audio settings in Windows.

      Windows XP SP3:


      1. Click on the Start Button.

      2. Click on Control Panel.

      3. Click on Sounds, Speech and Audio Devices (This applies if sorted by category, if sorted by classic view, Click on Sounds and Audio Devices and go to step 5.

      4. Click on Sounds and Audio Device.

      5. If the Jabra device is not chosen as default device, on the voice tab, choose it in both Voice playback and Voice recording then click on Apply and OK.

       Windows 7:

      1. Click on the Start Button.

      2. Click on Control Panel.

      3. Click on Hardware and Sound (This applies if sorted by category, if sorted by icons, Click on Sound and go to step 5).

      4. Click on Sound.

      5. If the Jabra device is not chosen as default device, on the playback tab, choose it and click on Set Default.


      6. Do the following on the Recording tab.

      7. Click Apply and OK.


      Windows 8:

      1. On the home screen, type “sound” and click/tap on Settings.

      2. Click on sound.
      3. If the Jabra device is not chosen as default device, on the playback tab, choose it and click on Set Default.

      4. Do the following on the Recording tab.

      5. Click Apply and OK.

      Voice commands offer the ability to have easy access to the most common used features.

      The list of available Voice Commands are as follows:

      To use  voice commands, simply tap the Voice and Mute microphone button when not on a

    • How do I make my softphone the preferred softphone in Jabra Direct?

      Requirements

      Before setting a preferred softphone in Jabra Direct make sure it is supported by Jabra Direct.

      Please follow these steps:

      1. Open Jabra Direct.
      2. Click on Settings.

       

      3. Scroll down and expand the Softphone (PC) button.
      4. In Preferred softphone, choose your preferred softphone.



      5. Click Apply.

      Note: If using a Jabra PRO 9470, Jabra PRO 9465, Jabra PRO 9460, Jabra GO 6470, Jabra Dial 550 or Jabra Motion Office the preferred softphone selected in Jabra Direct will overrule the selected softphone on the device itself.

      Refer to your headset’s manual for the location of the dial tone switch and how to set it in IQ mode.

    • Why is it important to update headset firmware?

      Requirements

      Firmware updates usually improve performance and sometimes add new functionality to your device.
      For some Jabra Link EHS adapters you need a micro USB cable to connect the adapter to the PC.

      To check for new firmware, please follow these steps:

      1. Open Jabra Direct.
      2. If a firmware update is available for your Jabra device, this will be indicated on the main screen.



      3. To update or to manually check for new firmware click on the Firmware Updater icon.



      4. The Jabra Direct Firmware Updater will open in a new window.
      5. Select your device and click on the Next button.



      Note: To update devices like e.g. Jabra Motion or Jabra Stealth they need to be connected directly to the PC with a USB cable.

      6. Click on the Download button, and when the download is done click on the Next button.



      7. Follow the on-screen instructions. Do not unplug your device while preforming a firmware update.

      Note: If using a Jabra USB dongle with your device e.g. Jabra Motion UC or Jabra Stealth UC it is recommended to update both the headset and dongle at the same time. The PC must be connected to the internet to download the latest firmware.

    • Rechargeable battery best practice

      This is the best practice for rechargeable batteries in general and is not related specifically to Jabra headsets, but to the technology itself. Below are examples of how to preserve and store a rechargeable battery to help ensure a long battery life. 

      • Avoid placement in direct sunlight
      • Avoid placement in extreme cold
      • Batteries should not be stored for extended periods without being recharged, we recommend to charge it every 3 months for most products
      • In daily use, it is best to return the headset to the charging base when not in use
      • HD Voice/Wideband consumes slightly more battery than Narrowband
      • Always return headset to charging base overnight

      If you handle or store your rechargeable battery incorrectly, its lifetime may be reduced.

    • Are Jabra headsets safe to use?

      Yes, it is safe to use Jabra headsets. All Jabra headsets feature PeakStop™ technology, which protects against sudden loud sound spikes. Many acoustic experts define acoustic shock as being exposed to a sound of over 135 dBSPL, but even lower sounds can damage the hearing. Therefore all Jabra headsets cut off sounds at 118 dBSPL (RMS).

    • What is Near Field Communication (NFC)?

      NFC is the abbreviation for Near Field Communication, which is a set of standards used by Jabra to
      establish radio communication between headsets and phones at a distance of no more than few centimeters.

      You can pair and listen to music over Bluetooth by tapping your devices together. Your mobile device
      need to have the NFC functionality and this has to be enabled.
