    • The person at the other end of the call has difficulty hearing me when I use the Jabra PRO 920.

If the person at the other end of the call  has difficulty hearing you, when you are using the Jabra PRO 920 headset then you should adjust the boom arm tip. This is particularly important when using a headset with a noise-cancelling microphone, which must be positioned quite close to the mouth. Alternatively please adjust the microphone volume on the back of the base. Refer to the Quick Start Guide or User Manual for more information.

    • Does the Jabra PRO 920 include wideband?

No, the Jabra PRO 920 is designed for narrowband only. This is because most desk phones do not support wideband sound. If wideband sound is selected on the headset when not supported on the desk phone, the result would be a reduction in sound quality.

    • When using my Jabra PRO 920 with my Siemens Optipoint phone in EHS mode, my headset will often go into "sleep" mode.

The Jabra PRO 920 has a sleep mode functionality that can be enabled or disabled. If enabled, it will turn off the device's radio after 8 hours of inactivity. Any EHS activity will wake up the unit from sleep mode. Depending on the DECT density in the device's immediate environment it may take up to 20 seconds to return from sleep mode. You can disable the sleep mode by following the instructions in the User Manual, Section 7.5. After 60 minutes of no audio link between the headset and the base, the headset will automatically power off. To turn the headset on, press and hold the multi-function button for 5 seconds.

    • Can I adjust the settings on my Jabra PRO 900 without using the Jabra PC Suite?

Yes, some key settings can be adjusted, e.g. range, audio protection, and auto sleep mode. While not on a call you can enter the voice guided set-up menu by wearing the headset and pressing/holding both headset volume buttons at the same time until you hear a beep.

Afterwards, use the volume up and down buttons for toggling the current setting; use the answer/end call button to accept the setting and then go to the next setting in the menu. Exit the set-up mode the same way as you entered the menu, by pressing/holding both volume buttons.

    • How do I pair a new master headset if several users are using the same base, but with different headsets (shared desk)?

Please select one of below options:

      1. If your previous master headset is turned off, simply dock the new headset and wait until the battery icon is green (this could take up to 1 minute)
      2. If your previous master headset is on, you should dock the new master headset and press and hold the answer/ end call button for approx 1 second, then wait until the battery icon turns green (this can take up to 1 minute).

    • Is it possible to update the Jabra PRO 920 firmware?

Yes, you can upload new firmware using the Jabra PC Suite. To establish a connection between the Jabra PRO 920 and a PC with Jabra PC Suite installed, you will need to connect with a special service cable, available as an accessory (Jabra product no. 14201-29).

    • What setting options are available with Service Cable for Jabra PRO 920?

The Service Cable enables settings that are not available in the “normal” voice-prompted menu.
For example, you can use the Service Cable to access the settings for the permanent conference mode.

      Connecting to a PC/Laptop:

      1. Connect the USB plug of the Service Cable to a USB slot on your PC / laptop.
      2. If not already installed, please install Jabra PC Suite on your PC / laptop.
      3. Open Jabra Control Center (part of Jabra PC Suite).
      4. Change the view settings from “Basic View” to “Advanced View” to get access to all possible settings.

      Settings “Headset”:

In this tab, you can select one of three different tone settings.

You can also disable the ringtone signal you hear in the headset. Please note that if you disable this tone, you will not receive any call notification from the headset.

In the standard configuration, you get a short audio signal about every 20 seconds when your microphone is muted. If you do not wish to get this signal, you can disable the mute reminder tone in this tab.

In the standard configuration, the Jabra PRO 920 is set to SafeTone™, meaning both IntelliTone™ and PeakStop™ (*2) are active.

PeakStop™ cannot be disabled, however you can disable the IntelliTone™ (*1) feature in this tab.

(*1) IntelliTone™: Jabra products with built in SafeTone™ technology include IntelliTone™ settings for the noise exposure control.

(*2) PeakStop™: Sound pressure levels above 118 db rms are actively removed by PeakStop™. [A1] The level of hearing protection offered by IntelliTone™ ranges from PeakStop™ only, to the maximum protection level, which ensures that even maximum sound levels are safe and below the levels defined by Noise at Work regulations.

      Settings “Base”:

Under “Base”, you can enable the “Auto sleep mode”.

If enabled, it will turn off the device's radio/link after 8 hours of inactivity. Any EHS activity will wake up the unit from sleep mode. Depending on the DECT density in the device's immediate environment, it may take up to 20 seconds to return from sleep mode.

You can also enable the permanent conference mode from this tab. With the default setting, the conference ends if the active call is ended.

The settings for the wireless range can be found on this tab as well. Please consult your manual for details on this feature.

      Settings “Desk Phone”:

In the standard configuration, the Jabra PRO 920 enables a dial tone when you take the headset out of the base. By disabling “Open phone line on undock” you can change this behavior. Once disabled, you will have to push the multi-function button on the headset to enable a dial tone. .

You can also enable or disable the automatic detection of the hook lifter type. You need to disable this feature if you want to select the hook lifter type manually.

You can also set the microphone level on this tab. Please note that you can adjust the microphone level directly on the base of Jabra PRO 920 as well, by using the plus and minus buttons on the backside of the headset base.

    • When I try to make a call using my desk phone, the Jabra GN1000 RHL lifts but the call is not connected.

The Jabra GN1000 cannot be used in conjunction with a headset port. Make sure that the Jabra wireless headset base is connected to the desk phone handset port and not the headset port (if the desk phone has one).

  • Technologies

    • How does a noise-cancelng microphone work on my Jabra PRO 920?

The noise-canceling microphone filters out unwanted background noise. It does so by distinguishing between sounds that come from nearby sources, such as from the mouth, and those from far away, which are suppressed. To get the full benefit of this technology, it is important that the noise-cancelling microphone is positioned as close to the mouth as possible.
