  • How do I get rid of the echo in my headset?

The audio level from the microphone on your Jabra Pro 92x should approximately match that of your desk phone. If you’re hearing echo, chances are, the volume of the headset’s microphone is set too high. Try adjusting the microphone level of the headset down, one step at a time, while talking.

As the microphone volume level drops, you’ll notice the echo will reduce or be eliminated.

  • Does the Jabra PRO 920 include wideband?

No, the Jabra PRO 920 is designed for narrowband only. This is because most desk phones do not support wideband sound. If wideband sound is selected on the headset when not supported on the desk phone, the result would be a reduction in sound quality.

    • The person at the other end of the call has difficulty hearing me when I use the Jabra PRO 92x.

If the person at the other end of the call has difficulty hearing you when you are using the Jabra PRO 92x headset you should adjust the boom arm tip. This is particularly important when using a headset with a  noise-cancelling microphone which must be positioned quite close to the mouth.  Alternatively, please adjust the microphone volume on the back of the base. Refer to the Quick Start Guide or User Manual for more information.

    • Why do I hear an echo while using the headset?

This could be due to that the microphone level is too high.  To adjust this, lower the microphone level:

      1. Wear the headset

      2. Make a test call (call a friend or colleague to test your speaking volume - ensure the friend or collegue does not adjust their headset volume, and that their volume is appropriately set)

      3. Adjust the microphone level using the microphone – volume button, as illustrated, while speaking to your colleague to ensure that the microphone level does not become too low. If you adjust the microphone level to low, adjust the volume up by using the + volume button

      4. When the microphone level is set, end the call

    • When using my Jabra PRO 920 with my Siemens Optipoint phone in EHS mode, my headset will often go into "sleep" mode.

The Jabra PRO 920 has a sleep mode functionality that can be enabled or disabled. If enabled, it will turn off the device's radio after 8 hours of inactivity. Any EHS activity will wake up the unit from sleep mode. Depending on the DECT density in the device's immediate environment it may take up to 20 seconds to return from sleep mode. You can disable the sleep mode by following the instructions in the User Manual, Section 7.5. After 60 minutes of no audio link between the headset and the base, the headset will automatically power off. To turn the headset on, press and hold the multi-function button for 5 seconds.

    • Why is it important to update headset firmware?

      Prerequisites

Firmware updates usually improve performance and sometimes add new functionality to your device.
For some Jabra Link EHS adapters you need a micro USB cable to connect the adapter to the PC.

To check for new firmware, please follow these steps:

      1. Open Jabra Direct.
      2. If a firmware update is available for your Jabra device, this will be indicated on the main screen.

      3. To update or to manually check for new firmware click on the Firmware Updater icon.

      4. The Jabra Direct Firmware Updater will open in a new window.
      5. Select your device and click on the Next button.

Note: To update devices like e.g. Jabra Motion or Jabra Stealth they need to be connected directly to the PC with a USB cable.

      6. Click on the Download button, and when the download is done click on the Next button.

      7. Follow the on-screen instructions. Do not unplug your device while preforming a firmware update.

Note: If using a Jabra USB dongle with your device e.g. Jabra Motion UC or Jabra Stealth UC it is recommended to update both the headset and dongle at the same time. The PC must be connected to the internet to download the latest firmware.

    • Rechargeable battery best practice

This is the best practice for rechargeable batteries in general and is not related specifically to Jabra headsets, but to the technology itself. Below are examples of how to preserve and store a rechargeable battery to help ensure a long battery life.

      • Avoid placement in direct sunlight
      • Avoid placement in extreme cold
      • Batteries should not be stored for extended periods without being recharged, we recommend to charge it every 3 months for most products
      • In daily use, it is best to return the headset to the charging base when not in use
      • HD Voice/Wideband consumes slightly more battery than Narrowband
      • Always return headset to charging base overnight

If you handle or store your rechargeable battery incorrectly, its lifetime may be reduced.

    • How does the noise-canceling microphone work on my Jabra PRO 920?

The noise-canceling microphone filters out unwanted background noise. It does so by distinguishing between sounds that come from nearby sources, such as from the mouth, and those from far away, which are suppressed. To get the full benefit of this technology, it is important that the noise-canceling microphone is positioned as close to the mouth as possible.
