      1. Connect the Jabra Link adapter as shown in adapter documentation supplied with the Jabra Link. On some phones the telephone cable will also need to be connected.

    • Jabra GN1000 Hookswitch

      The Jabra GN1000 remote handset lifter manually lifts the handset of the desk phone to make or answer a call. For instructions on how to mount the device, refer to the product documentation supplied with the Jabra GN1000.

      1. On the desk phone, unplug the handset cable from the phone body.
      2. Connect the handset cable to the port marked with a handset on the base.
      3. Plug the supplied telephone cable into the port marked with a blue telephone on the base.
      4. Connect the telephone cable to the handset port on the desk phone.
      5. Connect the Jabra GN1000 cable to the port marked with a red AUX port on the base.

  • I cannot answer/end desk phone calls via the headset

    1. ​In order to answer/end desk phone calls on the headset, you either need an Electronic Hook Switch adapter or a Jabra GN1000 remote handset lifter

      Be aware that Electronic Hook Switch is only supported on selected desk phones. If you are not sure if your desk phone is supported or you do not know how to set this up, please contact the relevant people responsible for the telephony within your company.
    2. Make sure that you chosen the correct EHS mode on the headset base during installation

    3. If you have a Jabra GN1000, please make sure that you have adjusted the Jabra GN1000 to lift handset high enough, so you can get audio from desk phone

  • I have distorted speaker sound

    1. This could be because the speaker volume setting is too high

      Adjust the volume accordingly down on your desk phone, mobile phone, soft phone and/or on the headset, until your find a lower, but better setting.
  • I have no sound at all in my headset

    1. ​Make sure you have power on the headset base

    2. ​Make sure your headset is turned on

  • Why is the audio not clear when I use my desk phone?

    ​The settings for the Dial Tone Switch and the volume of the microphone must match the settings on your desk phone. Refer to the user manual to set up the Jabra headset correctly.

  • How do I get rid of the echo in my headset?

    The audio level of the microphone on your Jabra headset should approximately match the audio level of your desk phone. If you are hearing an echo, the volume of the microphone on the headset may be set too high. Try to decrease the volume, one step at a time, while you are talking. As the volume of the microphone decreases, the echo will also decrease or be eliminated.

    Refer to the user manual of your Jabra headset to see where to adjust the volume of the microphone.

    Prerequisites

    Yes, you can specify many additional settings using Jabra Direct. Follow these steps:

    1. Open Jabra Direct.
    2. Click Settings.

    4. In the Settings menu, all available settings for your Jabra Pro 920 are listed.

    Note: To connect your Jabra Pro 920 and a PC that has Jabra Direct installed, use a special service cable (available as Jabra accessory product no. 14201-29). On some PCs, you may have to remove the power plug from the Jabra Pro 920 base, connect the service cable to the PC, and then reconnect the power plug to the Jabra 920 base.

  • Setup for Desk Phones

    • How do I connect my headset with a Polycom IP 320, IP 321, IP 330, IP 331, IP 335, IP 430, IP 450, IP 550, IP 560, IP 650, IP 670 or VVX 1500 so I can pick up and hang up calls electronically?

      Requirements
      Jabra Pro 920 or Jabra Pro 925 with latest firmware.
      Jabra Link 14201-17.
      Jabra 8800-00-75 for Polycom IP 320, IP 321, IP 330 or IP 331 only.

      In combination with one of the following phones

      SoundPoint IP phones running SIP software v 3.0 or later and BootROM 4.1.0 or later.
      Polycom IP 321, IP 331 running SIP software v3.1.2 rev. C or later.
      Polycom IP335 running SIP software v3.1.2 rev. B or later.
      VVX 1500 running SIP software v3.1.2 rev. B or later and BootROM 4.1.2 or later.


      Please follow these steps:

      1. Plug one end of the EHS adapter or cable into the serial port on the back of your phone.
      2. Plug the other end into the Jabra device base socket marked, AUX.
      3. Connect the headset’s RJ-9 connector to the Jabra device base marked with a Phone icon and the other end on the back of the phone marked with a Headset icon (use cord 8800-00-75 for SoundPoint IP phone models 320, 321, 330 or 331).




      Automatic configuration

      1. Set the phone set-up switch to position A





      2. Have someone call this phone and wait at least 10 seconds before answering the call. The appropriate EHS mode will be set automatically.

      3. Place a test call to a colleague and set the volume adjustment appropriately for your microphone audio level.

      Prerequisite:

      Jabra PRO 92x + Jabra LINK 14201-10 + Aastra DHSG Cable Kit (only available from Aastra)

      In combination with one of the following phones:

      • Aastra 53i / 55i / 57i / 57iCT

      from phone firmware 2.5.1.2000 and higher

      Connection:

      Aastra DHSG cable:

      Insert the split end of the Aastra DHSG cable into your headset as follows.

       

      1. Insert the RJ10 plug (marked green) into the “headset” socket and the RJ45 plug (marked yellow) into the socket for the expansion module/ expansion modules.
      2. Plug the 1-sided end of the Aastra DHSG cable marked in blue into the RJ45 adapter.

      GN Netcom DHSG cable:


      1. Now plug the 1-sided end of the GN Netcom DHSG-cable marked in blue into the RJ45 free socket of the RJ45 adapter.
      2. Connect the split end of the DHSG cable with the Jabra PRO 92x base as follows. Plug the RJ10 plug into the socket marked with a complete “phone” symbol and the RJ45 plug into the base socket of the Jabra PRO 92x marked with "AUX".

      Now you can setup the headset for your phone with the automatic or manual configuration.

       

      Automatic configuration:

      To start the automatic configuration, please let someone call you on this phone; wait at least 10 seconds before you pick up the phone. Now the appropriate EHS mode should be set up.

      If the automatic configuration did not work, please manually select the DHSG mode. (See Manual).

       

      Base setup:

      The audio mode in the phone settings must be set to "Headphone/Speaker":

      Remote call control in combination with an expansion keypad is not supported.

      3. Now connect the white cable marked with "C" to the socket of the EHS adapter marked with "Handset / Headset" and the “headset” socket of your phone.
        Important: For 1408/1416 and 9404/9408 phones the cable marked white with "A" must be used (instead of the "C" cable).
      4. Connect the dial tone sensor with the EHS adapter and attach it to the center of the phone speaker.

       

      Please note that full functionality is only available when all the color-marked parts of the cables are inserted into the EHS adapter, see photo.

       

      Now you can setup the headset for your phone with the automatic or manual configuration.

      Connection:

      2-sided end:


      Insert the RJ45 plug (red band) into the red socket marked with "AUX" and the RJ10 plug (blue band) into the blue base socket of the Jabra PRO 92x marked with a “phone” symbol.

      2-fold Y-coupling end:

      Insert the 3.5 mm audio jack into the headset interface and the RJ12 plug into the bell socket of the phone. The extra connector socket on the Y-coupling remains free for connection to an IP phone!

      Now you can setup the headset for your phone with the automatic or manual configuration.

       

      Automatic configuration:

      To start the automatic configuration, please let someone call you on this phone; wait at least 10 seconds before you pick up the phone. Now the appropriate EHS mode should be set up.

      If the automatic configuration did not work, please select the MSH mode manually. (See manual).

      Phone  setup with system software version 9.xx and higher:

      No settings are required on the phone to use a headset. Following the correct adaptation of the audio jack, a headset symbol should appear in the “Phone display”. If the headset symbol does not appear, please check the following settings:

      Menu> Settings> Phone> Audio Jack> Headset/Activate/Select.

       

      Phone setup with system software version below version 9.xx:

      Important: The “Force Headset” function must not be activated on the phone, as otherwise it will not be possible to accept external calls.

      Menu> Settings> Phone> Audio Jack>Force headset OFF

      Menu> Settings> Phone> Socket > Activate headset

       

      Dial tone signal transfer/ phone setup:

      Important: The dial tone signal in the headset is only transmitted if one of the following ringtones is used, e.g. Standard/ Classic / Cold River / Dooing-Dooing. > Menu> Settings> Dial Tone > Internal / External

      Should the dial tone signal transfer not work although you have setup the correct ringtone, please check the following settings: 

      Menu > Settings > Phone > Internal/External, more options

      No sound, Progressive, Beeps> all points must be set to "OFF".

      Calls being made via the headset can be connected / forwarded as follows:

      Dial the phone number > "Forward" will now appear in the phone display > now press on to the appropriate function key next to the phone display > thereafter you must end the call with the button marked "Handset".

      Prerequisite:

      In combination with one of the following phones:

      EE = Extended Edition

       

      Connection:

      1. Take the supplied connection cable RJ10 to RJ10 of the Jabra PRO 92x and insert into the socket of your Jabra PRO 92x base marked "phone" and the other end into the socket of the EHS adapter marked with the “phone” symbol.
      2. Now connect the end of the RJ45 to RJ45 connection cable (EHS adapter) marked in red with the socket of the EHS adapter marked with "AUX" and the socket of your Jabra PRO 92x base marked with "AUX".
      3. Now connect the white RJ10 to the 3.5 mm jack connection cable marked "D" to the socket of the EHS adapter marked with "Handset / Headset" and with the “headset” socket of your phone.
      4. Now connect the orange RJ12 to RJ12 connection cable marked with "A" to the socket of the EHS adapter marked with "COM" and with the "bell" socket of your phone.

      Please note that full functionality is only available when all the color-marked parts of the cables are inserted into the EHS adapter. See photo. 

       

      Now you can setup the headset for your phone with the automatic or manual configuration.

       

      Automatic configuration:

      No settings are required on the phone to use a headset. Following the correct adaptation of the audio jack, a headset symbol should appear in the “Phone display”. If the headset symbol does not appear, please check the following settings:

      Menu> Settings> Phone> Audio Jack> Headset Activate/Select

       

      Phone setup with system software version below version 9.xx:

      Important: The “Force Headset” function must not be activated on the phone, as otherwise it will not be possible to accept external calls.

      Menu> Settings> Phone> Audio Jack>Force Headset OFF

      Menu> Settings> Phone> Socket > Activate Headset

       

      Ringtone transfer / phone setup:

      Important: The dial tone signal in the headset is only transmitted if one of the following ringtones is used, e.g., Standard/ Classic / Cold River / Dooing-Dooing. > Menu> Settings> Dial Tone > Internal / External

      Should the dial tone signal transfer not work although you have setup the correct ringtone, please check the following settings:

      Menu > Settings > Phone > Internal/External, more options

      No sound, Progressive, Beeps> all points must be set to "OFF".

      Calls being made via the headset can be connected / forwarded as follows:

      Dial the phone number > "Forward" will now appear in the phone display > now press on to the appropriate function key next to the phone display > thereafter you must end the call with the button marked "Handset"

      4. Connect the dial tone sensor with the EHS adapter and attach it to the center on the phone speaker.

      Now you can setup the headset for your phone with the automatic or manual configuration.

    • How do I get rid of the echo in my headset?

      The audio level of the microphone on your Jabra headset should approximately match the audio level of your desk phone. If you are hearing an echo, the volume of the microphone on the headset may be set too high. Try to decrease the volume, one step at a time, while you are talking. As the volume of the microphone decreases, the echo will also decrease or be eliminated.

    • Why is the sound quality of my Jabra headset poor when I use it with my desk phone?

      The settings for the dial tone switch and the microphone volume on your Jabra headset may be set incorrectly. Try the following adjustments:

      1. Make sure the microphone is positioned close enough to your mouth to maximize speech quality and the noise-cancelling capabilities. If you are using a flex boom arm, position it approximately 1 inch from your mouth.
      2. Adjust the dial tone by slowly switching from A to G. Select the setting that that gives you the clearest conversation. See the following examples of switch settings. These will work in most cases, but there may be exceptions.

        • Switch A: Avaya and most modern IP and digital phones
        • Switch B: Cisco and Avaya Callmaster 5 and 6
        • Switch C: Kirk Delta
        • Switch D: Tenovis phones
        • Switch E: Innovaphone
        • Switch F: Different phone brands

      Prerequisites

      To check for firmware and update your Jabra device, you must have Jabra Direct installed on your PC. To update devices such as Jabra Motion or Jabra Stealth, they must be connected directly to the PC using a USB cable. For some Jabra Link EHS adapters, you may need a micro USB cable to connect the adapter to the PC. Follow these steps:

      1. Open Jabra Direct.
      2. If a firmware update is available for your Jabra device, this is indicated on the main screen.



      3. To update the firmware or manually check for new firmware, click the Firmware Updater icon.

      5. The Jabra Direct Firmware Updater opens in a new window.
      6. Select your Jabra device, and then click Next.



      7. Click Download. When the download is finished, click Next.

      When you reset your headset to the default settings, the previous settings will be deleted.

      To reset using Jabra Direct, follow these steps:

      Note: To reset the Jabra Evolve 65, it must be connected to a PC using a USB cable.

      Prerequisites

      Firmware updates usually improve the performance of your Jabra device, and sometimes they add new functionality.

      Note: To update some devices such as Jabra Link EHS adapters, Jabra Motion, or Jabra Stealth, they need to be connected directly to your PC by using a micro USB or USB cable.

      To check for new firmware, follow these steps:

      1. Open Jabra Direct.
      2. If a firmware update is available for your Jabra device, this is indicated on the main screen.



      3. To update the firmware, or to manually check for new firmware, click the Firmware Updater icon.



      4. The Jabra Direct Firmware Updater opens in a separate window.
      5. Select your Jabra device, and then click Next.



      6. Click Download, and when the download is finished, click Next.



      7. Follow the on-screen instructions. Do not unplug your device while the firmware update is in progress.

      Note: If you are using a Jabra USB dongle with your device, such as a Jabra Motion UC or Jabra Stealth UC, it is recommended to update both the headset and the dongle at the same time. Your PC must be connected to the Internet to download the latest firmware.

      Prerequisites

      ​Yes, you can adjust some of the main settings such as range, audio protection, and auto sleep mode. To use the voice guided setup menu, follow these steps:

      1. When not on a call, simultaneously press and hold both of the Volume buttons on the headset until you hear a beep.
      2. Use the Volume up and Volume down buttons to toggle the current setting. Select your preferred setting, and then use the Answer/end call button to accept it.
      3. Go to the next setting, and repeat step 2.
      4. To exit the setup menu, simultaneously press and hold both of the Volume buttons on the headset until you hear a beep.

    • Best practices for rechargeable batteries

      These guidelines apply to the use of batteries in general, and do not apply specifically to their use with Jabra headsets. To preserve and store rechargeable batteries, use the following guidelines:

      • Avoid placing batteries in direct sunlight.
      • Avoid placing batteries in extreme cold.
      • Do not store batteries for extended periods without recharging them, around every 3 months for most products.
      • In daily use, it is best to return the headset to the charging base when it is not in use.
      • Always return the headset to the charging base overnight.
      • Note that HD Voice/Wideband consumes slightly more battery than Narrowband.

      If you handle or store rechargeable batteries incorrectly, their lifetime may be reduced.
