      The GN1000 remote handset lifter manually lifts the desk phone handset to make or answer a call. For mounting instructions, refer to documentation supplied with the GN1000.
      1. On the desk phone, unplug the handset cable from the phone body.
      2. Connect the handset cable to the grey marked port on the base.
      3. Plug the supplied telephone cable into the blue marked port on the base.
      4. Connect the telephone cable into the handset port on the desk phone.
      5. Connect the GN1000 cable into the red marked port on the base.

  • How do I change the battery for my Jabra PRO 9400 Series headset?

    To change the battery you need the Jabra PRO 9400 battery change kit, which includes a battery and a small screwdriver.

    1. Remove the headband from your headset.

     

    Jabra PRO 9450 Mono / Jabra PRO 9460 Mono / Jabra PRO 9470 Mono:

    2. Unscrew the headset cover.

  • How do I activate audio streaming with my Jabra headset?

    The headset automatically opens the Audio link towards the PC, but it does take 2 seconds for the audio link to open.

    Note this is not related to use of your headset with a softphone.

    You can activate audio streaming either by using the Touchscreen  or by using Jabra PC Suite.

    You can audio stream to use a language program, to listen to music or radio, or even to use  transcription programs.

    Please proceed as follows with one of the two options:

    Option 1 using the Touch Screen:

    1.  Make sure your headset is not in use.

    2.  Using the touch screen display, select the PC symbol and tap it.

    3.  Tap PC Audio Communication.


    4.  The headset is now ready to stream music/radio/ etc.

    5. To close the audio link, simply press the Multi-function button once, or dock the headset in the base.




    Option 2 using Jabra PC Suite:

     

    You need to download and install Jabra PC Suite, and the USB cable must be connected to the base and the computer.

    Download Jabra PC Suite

     

    Open audio link for occasional audio streaming


    1. Undock your headset
    2. Right click on the Jabra or Jabra Battery icon in the process bar.


    3. Click on Open Audio Link


    4. Audio streaming is now activated, and will be activated until you close it, from the above menu. Note that if you have an active audio streaming while you close the link, the audio will keep streaming.

  • How do I use conference mode with the Jabra PRO 9400 series?

    Prerequisite:

    For conference mode, you need a complete Jabra PRO 9400 and at least one additional headset. You can operate up to four headsets per base in conference mode.

    Conference mode:

    Remove the headset from the base, and set up a call.

    This headset is now the "master headset" and controls the conference.

    During the call, insert the second headset into the base of the master headset.

     

    The following display now appears

     

    Select "Sec."

    The headset is now paired with the device.

    You now hear a signal tone in the master headset. Pressing the "answer/end” button once on the master headset starts the conference or coaching function. Repeat the procedure for up to 2 additional headsets, making the total amount of headsets in the conference 4.

    Anyone can leave the conference by pressing the “answer/end” button once.

    For a permanent conference or coaching function (also in EHS and USB modes), you must install “Jabra PC Suite” on your computer if you have not already done so and open “Jabra Control Center”. In “Jabra Control Center” uncheck the box titled “End headset conference when call ends”

  • How do I recover my Jabra PRO 9400 or Jabra GO 6400 after a failed firmware update?

    ​If a firmware update is interrupted the firmware update will fail and the touch screen goes blank
    (plain white). The Jabra PRO 9450 will also light up white. The product can be recovered by following this procedure:

    1. Go to www.jabra.com/support and find the support product page for the product being used:


    2. Download the relevant firmware for the product used, to the desktop or somewhere else you can locate it afterwards:


    3. Once the firmware has been saved to the PC, open the Jabra Firmware updater and and uncheck the box "check for firmware updates on Jabra web server":


    4. Press "Browse" to find the file that has been saved to the PC:


    5. Select your local region from the dropdown menu:


    6. Click "Next":


    7. The device will now start updating
      Important: Remember not to interrupt the firmware update.

    8. To ensure the firmware update is successful we recommend that you do not use the computer at all.
      The update takes less than 5 minutes.

    9. After the firmware update has been successfully completed the headset base will reboot itself and
      be ready for use

    • I experience a buzzing sound in my Jabra PRO 9400.

      ​If the headset has been set up correctly, your phone may not be fully immune to the radio signals the headset uses. To remedy this issue, move the headset base at least 30 cm away from the phone. Alternatively, you can reduce the range of your headset by adjusting the settings on the touch screen.

      ​Your headset is probably using one of the highest volume settings. Decrease the speaker volume on the headset by sliding your finger down the touch-sensitive panel on the side of the headset.

    • The sound quality in my headset is poor and/or the other end cannot hear me while using my Jabra PRO with my desk phone.

      The clear dial-tone switch and/or microphone volume on the base may be set incorrectly. You can adjust the microphone level, and/or run the desk phone setup guide, to adjust the dial tone switch.

      First ensure the microphone is positioned close enough to the mouth to maximize noise-cancelling and speech quality. approx. 1 inch from the mouth if you are using a flex boom arm.

       

      |Adjust the dial tone switch

      1. Tap the tool icon in the top right corner of the touch screen.


      2. Tap on Phone settings.


      3. Tap on Desk phone.


      4. Tap arrow down until you reach Setup desk phone, then tap it.


      5. Tap confirm.


      6. Tap on Guided.


      7. Now choose Yes or No to if you have a special cable/adapter.


      8. Now depending on your choice follow the guide on the touch screen carefully.
      9. Once you have followed the guide the base will restart, and be ready for use.

      | Adjust the microphone volume
      1. Call a friend or a colleague and start a conversation and make sure they have an acceptable speaker level.
      2. Once on the call, tap the call options menu icon placed in the top right corner on the touch screen.

                                                

      3. Use the arrow down until you reach Microphone level and tap it.


      4. Adjust the level by tapping the + or – icon while having a conversation.


      5. Once you have reached an acceptable level, use the back arrow to exit the menu.


      6. If you still have too low microphone volume, check that your desk phones volume has an acceptable level.

    • Do the Jabra PRO 9400 and Jabra GO 6400 series support Mac?

      ​Although Jabra PRO 9400 and Jabra GO 6400 do not officially support Mac, both products have been tested on Mac Book, OS 10.4.1. USB audio, TX/RX works fine, i.e. via Skype.

      The great thing is the auto-audio-link, so although you do not have EHS on Skype with a Mac, the audio link opens automatically when Skype call is initiated. As always on Mac, you manually have to change audio setting before the audio is handled correctly.

    • Can I pair my Jabra PRO 9400 directly with a third-party DECT phone?

      ​No, you can only pair the headset with a Jabra PRO™ 9400 base (it is not Generic Access Profile (GAP) compliant). This is because Jabra PRO™ 9400 uses an enhanced version of the DECT standard, thereby enabling many of its advanced call-handling features. These enhancements are not supported by third-party manufacturers.

    • How do I choose which softphone will be used by the headset if I have both Microsoft Lync and Cisco IP Communicator installed?

      It is possible to receive calls on either or both softphones, but to place a new call you need to select a preferred softphone.  You can do this with Jabra PC Suite:

      Please follow these steps:

      1.    Open Jabra Control Center
      2.    Under the View menu, select Advanced View

       

      3.    Click on the Softphone tab
      4.    Choose the preferred softphone for outgoing calls (choose Softphones supported by Jabra PC Suite to select the Cisco IP Communicator softphone or Microsoft to select Lync as your preferred softphone)

      ​Yes. Press and hold down the headset’s multifunction button down for 5 seconds. To turn the headset back on again, simply dock it in its cradle or press the multifunction button. Please note that this power cycle is the equivalent of resetting the headset.

    • How do I change the priority of an active call and a new call?

      Firmware No.: 3.11.0 or newer

      Call priority can be changed using Jabra PC Suite.

      Please follow these steps:

      1. Open Jabra Control Center.
      2. Under the View menu, select Advanced View.




      3. Select the Base tab.
      4. Change the priority in Call priority. Please choose between:

      Active call priority - When this option is selected, joining a new call using your
      phone (NOT the headset) will continue the active call and place the new call on hold.

      New call priority - When this option is selected, joining a new call using your
      phone (NOT the headset) will place the active call on hold and continue the new call.



      4. Click Apply and OK.

      Requirements
      Jabra PC Suite (latest version)
      Firmware No.: 3.11.0 or newer

      Jabra headsets can eliminate so much background noise the person on the other end of the line
      may think that the call has been disconnected. Comfort noise can be added to the headset’s
      output using Jabra PC Suite so the person on the other end of the line knows you’re still there.

      Please follow these steps:

      1. Open Jabra Control Center.
      2. Under the View menu, select Advanced View.



      3. Select the Softphone (PC) tab.
      4. Ensure Enable comfort noise has been checked:

      Yes, Comfort Noise is supported with firmware 3.11.0 or newer.

      Comfort Noise is activated using Jabra PC Suite (Jabra.com/pcsuite)

      1. Open Jabra Control Center.

      2. Select the Softphone (PC) tab.

      3. Tick Enable comfort noise.

    • How do I put calls on hold on my Jabra GO 6470, Jabra PRO 9470, 9465 and 9460?

      It is possible to put a call on hold by using the touch screen.

      When on hold all audio between the softphone or mobile phone will pause. The listener on the other end of the call can see they have been put on hold or hear a voice indication (dependent on their equipment). For desk phones please use the audio hold feature instead.

      1. To put your call on Hold, tap the current call phone icon.


      2. Tap the pause icon to hold the call.

      3. The call is now On Hold. To resume the call tap play icon.

      1. Remove the headband from your headset.

    • How do I activate audio streaming with my Jabra headset?

      The headset automatically opens the Audio link towards the PC, but it does take 2 seconds for the audio link to open.

      Note this is not related to use of your headset with a softphone.

      You can activate audio streaming either by using the Touchscreen  or by using Jabra PC Suite.

      You can audio stream to use a language program, to listen to music or radio, or even to use  transcription programs.

      Please proceed as follows with one of the two options:

      Option 1 using the Touch Screen:

      1.  Make sure your headset is not in use.

      2.  Using the touch screen display, select the PC symbol and tap it.

      3.  Tap PC Audio Communication.


      4.  The headset is now ready to stream music/radio/ etc.

      5. To close the audio link, simply press the Multi-function button once, or dock the headset in the base.




      Option 2 using Jabra PC Suite:

       

      You need to download and install Jabra PC Suite, and the USB cable must be connected to the base and the computer.

      Download Jabra PC Suite

       

      Open audio link for occasional audio streaming


      1. Undock your headset
      2. Right click on the Jabra or Jabra Battery icon in the process bar.


      3. Click on Open Audio Link


      4. Audio streaming is now activated, and will be activated until you close it, from the above menu. Note that if you have an active audio streaming while you close the link, the audio will keep streaming.

    • How do I use conference mode with the Jabra PRO 9400 series?

      Prerequisite:

      For conference mode, you need a complete Jabra PRO 9400 and at least one additional headset. You can operate up to four headsets per base in conference mode.

      Conference mode:

      Remove the headset from the base, and set up a call.

      This headset is now the "master headset" and controls the conference.

      During the call, insert the second headset into the base of the master headset.

       

      The following display now appears

       

      Select "Sec."

      The headset is now paired with the device.

      You now hear a signal tone in the master headset. Pressing the "answer/end” button once on the master headset starts the conference or coaching function. Repeat the procedure for up to 2 additional headsets, making the total amount of headsets in the conference 4.

      Anyone can leave the conference by pressing the “answer/end” button once.

      For a permanent conference or coaching function (also in EHS and USB modes), you must install “Jabra PC Suite” on your computer if you have not already done so and open “Jabra Control Center”. In “Jabra Control Center” uncheck the box titled “End headset conference when call ends”

    • How do I recover my Jabra PRO 9400 or Jabra GO 6400 after a failed firmware update?

      ​If a firmware update is interrupted the firmware update will fail and the touch screen goes blank
      (plain white). The Jabra PRO 9450 will also light up white. The product can be recovered by following this procedure:

      1. Go to www.jabra.com/support and find the support product page for the product being used:


      2. Download the relevant firmware for the product used, to the desktop or somewhere else you can locate it afterwards:


      3. Once the firmware has been saved to the PC, open the Jabra Firmware updater and and uncheck the box "check for firmware updates on Jabra web server":


      4. Press "Browse" to find the file that has been saved to the PC:


      5. Select your local region from the dropdown menu:


      6. Click "Next":


      7. The device will now start updating
        Important: Remember not to interrupt the firmware update.

      8. To ensure the firmware update is successful we recommend that you do not use the computer at all.
        The update takes less than 5 minutes.

      9. After the firmware update has been successfully completed the headset base will reboot itself and
        be ready for use

    • How do I pair my headset with the Jabra PRO 9400 base?

      ​If you dock a Jabra PRO 9400 base and headset that are not paired, the touch screen asks if you would like to pair the headset — either as a primary or secondary device. If you choose to pair it as secondary, the connection is temporary, lasting only until the end of the next (or current call). This feature is meant to facilitate conference calling.

      If you however want to assign the inserted headset as the primary headset, press the ‘prim’ option on the touch screen. Press the ‘no’ option to prevent pairing (while still charging the headset).

      If you dock a headset to a Jabra PRO™ 9400 base with which it is already paired, no pairing notification appears.

      For more information, see the section called “Pairing and Connecting the Base and Headset” in the User Manual.

      Prerequisite:

      The ring tone can only be disabled on the following headsets:

      • Jabra PRO 920 - only possible with Jabra service cable (Jabra product no. 14201-29)
      • Jabra PRO 930
      • Jabra PRO 9450 / 9460 / 9465 / 9470
      • Jabra GO 6470

      To disable the ringtone signal in the headset,  you will need to have the latest Jabra PC Suite installed on the PC.

      Download the latest release of Jabra PC Suite

      After you have installed the latest version of the Jabra PC Suite follow the next steps:

      1. Put your headset in the cradle and make sure that the base is connected to the PC with the USB cord. Then start up the Jabra Control Center (Start > Programs > Jabra > Jabra PC Suite > Jabra Control Center).
      2. Click on the "Headset tab"
      3. To deactivate the ring tone signal, please uncheck the „Enable ringtone in headset“ option.

      Connecting to PC/laptop:

      1. Connect the USB connection cable supplied to the mini-USB socket on the Jabra device base and a vacant USB slot on your PC/laptop.
      2. The Jabra device will now be automatically registered in your system control under >Sound & Audio devices.

      The Jabra PRO 9400 is plug-and-play with the following operating systems:

      • Microsoft Windows 8.x

      • Microsoft Vista
      • Windows 2000 / ME / XP

      This desk phone does not have a dedicated headset port.

      1. On the desk phone, unplug the handset cable from the phone body.
      2. Connect the handset cable to the port marked “handset” on the base.
      3. Plug the supplied telephone cable into the port marked “phone” on the base.
      4. Connect the telephone cable into the handset port on the desk phone.

       

      Desk phone with headset port:

      This type of desk phone has a dedicated headset port (usually at the back of the phone). These phones typically have a button on the front panel for switching between handset and headset.

      1. Plug the supplied telephone cable into the port marked “phone” on the base.
      2. Connect the telephone cable to the headset port on the desk phone.

      On certain firmware versions of the Avaya 9608 headset signaling is not per default enabled.
      To enable this feature on your Avaya phone follow the steps below.

      1. Press the Home button.



      2. Navigate to “Option & Settings” press Select or OK.
      3. Navigate to “Call settings” press Select or OK.
      4. Navigate “Headset Signaling” press Change or OK to set the option to Yes or No, depending on the current setting. (The option given here may vary depending on the firmware installed on the phone).

    • How to connect and use my Jabra PRO 9460 with Skype for Windows

      | Connection and configuration

      1.    Download and install Jabra PC Suite on your computer (required for headset call control).
      2.    Plug the headset touch screen base into AC power and dock the headset (see right). Allow to charge for at least 20 minutes.
      3.    Choose your preferred language for installation.
      4.    When asked to Connect to a Desk Phone choose No. (if Desk Phone installation is required, see alternate guide)
      5.    When asked to Connect to a Softphone choose Yes.
      6.    Touch > to begin.
      7.    Choose Skype, then >.
      8.    As required, set Personal Preferences, review Jabra PC Suite software, and complete Headset Intro.
      9.    Touch X to reboot.
      10.    After the headset base reboots, wait briefly for Windows to install the driver for the headset.
      11.    Start up Skype.
      12.    In the Skype main window, click Tools and choose Options.

      13.    Under General, select the Audio settings option.
      14.    Next to Microphone, select the Jabra PRO 9460 from the drop down menu.
      15.    Next to Speakers, select the Jabra PRO 9460 from the drop down menu.
      16.    Next to Ringing, select the Jabra PRO 9460 from the drop down menu.



      17.    When you have finished, click Save.

      Polycom IP335 running SIP software v3.1.2 rev. B or later.
      VVX 1500 running SIP software v3.1.2 rev. B or later and BootROM 4.1.2 or later.


      Please follow these steps:

      1. Plug one end of the EHS adapter or cable into the serial port on the back of your phone
      2. Plug the other end into the Jabra device base socket marked AUX
      3. Connect the headset’s RJ-9 connector to the Jabra device base marked with a Phone icon and the other end on the back of the phone marked with a Headset icon (use cord 8800-00-75 for SoundPoint IP phone models 320, 321, 330 or 331)

       

      Automatic configuration

      1. Remove the lid.



      2. Set the phone set-up switch to position A



      3. Have someone call this phone and wait at least 10 seconds before answering. The appropriate EHS mode will be set automatically.
      4. Place a test call to a colleague and set the volume adjustment appropriately for your microphone audio level.

      Cisco Call Manager Express from Version 4.1 and phone firmware 9.0(3). You will be informed about the required IOC version during the download (Cisco).

      Connection:
      Connect the 1-ended side (USB connector) of the EHS adapter to the USB port on your phone device.
      Connect the split end of the EHS adapter to the Jabra PRO 94x0 or Jabra GO 6470 base. Plug the RJ10 connector into the socket marked with a ”phone” symbol and the RJ45 connector into the socket marked "AUX" on the base.

    • How do I connect my headset with my Alcatel IP Touch 4029, or 4039?

      Requirements:
      Jabra LINK 14201-36

      To connect your headset please follow these steps:

      1. On the 2-sided end, plug the RJ45 connector (red band) in the red socket marked AUX on the Jabra device base.
      2. Plug the RJ10 connector (blue band) into the blue socket marked with the phone symbol on the Jabra device base.
      3. For the 2-fold Y coupling end, plug the 3.5mm phone connector into the headset interface.

       

      4. Plug the RJ12 connector into the socket marked by a bell on the phone.
      5. Plug the phone cable for the phone directly into the additional connection socket of the Y-cable.
      6. Then follow the instructions on the Jabra device touch-screen:
        a. Select Phone settings.
        b. Select Connect  desk phone.
        c. Select Manual.
        

        d. Select adapter type MSH.
        

      7. For the base settings on the phone:
        a. Set the phone set-up switch to position A.

      Jabra LINK 14201-36

      To connect your headset please follow these steps:

      1. On the 2-sided end, plug the RJ45 connector (red band) in the red socket marked AUX on the Jabra device base.
      2. Plug the RJ10 connector (blue band) into the blue socket marked with the phone symbol on the Jabra device base.
      3. For the 2-fold Y coupling end, plug the 3.5 mm phone connector into the headset interface.
      4. Plug the RJ12 connector into the socket marked by a bell on the phone.
      (The additional socket on the Y-coupling remains free to connect to an IP device.

       

      5. Then follow the instructions on the Jabra device touch-screen:
        a. Select  Phone settings.
        b. Select Connect desk phone.
        c. Select Manual.
       

         d. Select adapter type MSH.
       
      6. For the base settings on the phone:
        a. Set the phone set-up switch to position A.

      To connect the headset please follow these steps:

      1. Plug one end of the RJ10 to RJ10 4-pin cable to the socket marked with the phone symbol on the Jabra device base.
      2. Plug the other end of that cable into the headset port of the AZ adapter.
      3. Plug one end of the 8-pin RJ45 connector of the Jabra 8800-00-93 to the AUX port on the Jabra device base.
      4. Plug the hollow socket connector to the socket marked with the bell symbol on the AZ adapter.
      5. Plug the 6-pin western connector into the second receiver socket on the AZ adapter.
      6. Follow the instructions on the Jabra device touch-screen:
      7. Select Phone setting.
      8. Select Connect to a desk phone.
      9. Select Manual.

      10. Select adapter type GN1000.

      1. Plug one end of the phone cable supplied with your Jabra device into the socket marked phone on your Jabra device base
      2. Plug the other end of that cable into the socket marked with a phone symbol on the EHS adapter
      3. Plug the red end of the cable (EHS adapter) to the socket marked AUX on the EHS adapter
      4. Plug the other end into the AUX socket on your Jabra device base
      5. Plug the cable marked white and “D” to the socket marked Headset/handset on the EHS adapter
      6. Plug the other end to the headset socket on your phone
      7. Plug the orange cable marked “A” to the socket marked COM on the EHS adapter



      8. Plug the other end of that cable to the “bell” socket on your phone

    • When I try to make a call using my desk phone, the Jabra GN1000 RHL lifts but the call is not connected.

      ​The Jabra GN1000 cannot be used in conjunction with a headset port. Make sure that the Jabra wireless headset base is connected to the desk phone handset port and not the headset port (if the desk phone has one).

      To get full call control you must have the latest version of Jabra PC Suite installed.

      Download and install Jabra PC Suite 

      1. Open Jabra PC Suite.

      2. Click on the Softphone (PC) tab.

      3. Make sure your screen is in Advanced View.

      4. Select the appropriate softphone from the list under Target Softphone for Outoing Calls.

      5. Click Apply.

      Although your product is optimized for MS Lync, it is not able to make your Jabra device the default audio device in Windows automatically.

      Check your audio settings in Windows.

      Windows XP SP3:


      1. Click on the Start Button.

      2. Click on Control Panel.

      3. Click on Sounds, Speech and Audio Devices (This applies if sorted by category, if sorted by classic view, Click on Sounds and Audio Devices and go to step 5.

      4. Click on Sounds and Audio Device.

      5. If the Jabra device is not chosen as default device, on the voice tab, choose it in both Voice playback and Voice recording then click on Apply and OK.

       Windows 7:

      1. Click on the Start Button.

      2. Click on Control Panel.

      3. Click on Hardware and Sound (This applies if sorted by category, if sorted by icons, Click on Sound and go to step 5).

      4. Click on Sound.

      5. If the Jabra device is not chosen as default device, on the playback tab, choose it and click on Set Default.


      6. Do the following on the Recording tab.

      7. Click Apply and OK.

    • What is the range on my Jabra PRO 9400?

      The Jabra PRO 9400 supports a maximum range of up to 150m* (base to headset). In practice, you may find the range to be somewhat shorter due to physical obstructions and electromagnetic interference.

      The sound in your headset will slowly deteriorate as you move farther from the base. Move back into range and sound quality is restored. If you move all the way out of range while talking, you will lose all sound, but your call will be held open at the base for 60 seconds. This gives you the chance to move back in range; however, after 60 seconds the current call will be terminated.

      If you remain out of range for a longer time, you may need to re-establish the DECT connection manually when you return (i.e. dock the headset to the base).

    • How does the Intellitone setting work on my headset?

      How are the 0-4 hours defined? Does it average out the sound or does it just stop the peaks at certain levels?

      According to the EC standards the SPL (Sound Pressure Level) during a full working day (8h) should be less than 85 dBA. For the Jabra PRO and GO products  this realized by having an Auto Volume algorithm running in IntelliTone Level 1-3 (4). In Level 3 the SPL is set such that it will not exceed 85 dBA.

      Depending on your volume setting the Auto Volume function will regulate the received Audio (a.k.a. RX) so that the long term average speech energy is constant. At highest volume step, this target level will be approx. 85 dBA. For Level 1 and 2 where a lower amount of hours can be specified the target level is adjusted according to how much the user is exposed during this period. For example to fulfill the 85 dBA over a 8 hours working day corresponds to 3 dB higher level over a 4 hours duration. In this case the SPL can be set higher for setting 1 (0-4 hours) and Level 2 (4-8 hours) and still comply with the 85 dBA requirement.
