  • How do I pair my Jabra Speak 510?

    It is possible to pair your speakerphone with a Jabra Link 360 USB dongle, a mobile device or a Bluetooth headset.

    If the Speakerphone has a previous pairing, remember to turn off or disable the Bluetooth on the previously paired device before proceeding with the pairing guide. 

    |Pairing with Jabra Link 360

    1. Press and hold the Bluetooth button for 2 seconds.

    2. If you want to pair with a Jabra Link 360 simply connect it to your computer now.
    Note that if you have any device that have been paired with the Jabra Link 360 before, please turn it off before connecting the dongle to the computer. Otherwise the device may pair up with the old device instead of the new device.

    3. It can take up to one minute for the speakerphone and Jabra Link 360 to pair.

    | Pairing with a mobile device

    1. Press and hold the Bluetooth button for 2 seconds.




    2. Activate Bluetooth on your mobile device (refer to your device manual for instructions), and select Jabra Speak 510.



    If asked for a pin code or passkey the code is: 0000 (Four zeros)

    | Pairing with a Bluetooth headset

    4. If you want to pair with a Bluetooth headset, you will have to press and hold the Bluetooth button for 8 seconds until it goes from flashing blue to flashing green.



    5. Put your Bluetooth headset in pairing mode (refer to your headset manual for instructions), and pair the devices.

      Requirements

      • Firmware 2.7.0 or newer

      It is possible to have 2 active Bluetooth connections with the device and switch between them.

      This feature is available with firmware version 2.7.0.

      The following combinations are possible:
      • Connected to mobile device
      • Connected to Jabra Link 360
      • Connected to headset
      • Connected to 2 mobile devices
      • Connected to Jabra Link 360 and a mobile device

      | Switching connection

      Press and hold the Bluetooth button and tap the Volume up or Volume down button to cycle between the different options. The connected devices will be announced.

      Requirements

      Jabra Direct will try and set the default softphone automatically.
      To change to IBM Sametime manually, please follow these steps:

      1. IBM Sametime must be closed before installing Jabra Direct.
      2. Install Jabra Direct.
      3. Open Jabra Direct.
      4. Click on Settings.



      5. Scroll down and expand the Softphone (PC) button.
      6. In Preferred softphone dropdown menu, choose IBM Sametime and click Apply.



      7. Startup IBM Sametime.
      8. Select File and choose Preferences.



      9. Select the Voice and Video option.
      10. For each of the three audio settings (Microphone, Speakers and Ringing), select your desired Jabra Device from the dropdown menu.



      11. When done, click Apply, then OK.
      12. Jabra Direct should state the Jabra device and IBM Sametime is ready for use.

      Requirements

      Before setting a preferred softphone in Jabra Direct make sure it is supported by Jabra Direct.

      Please follow these steps:

      1. Open Jabra Direct.
      2. Click on Settings.

       

      3. Scroll down and expand the Softphone (PC) button.
      4. In Preferred softphone, choose your preferred softphone.



      5. Click Apply.

      Note: If using a Jabra PRO 9470, Jabra PRO 9465, Jabra PRO 9460, Jabra GO 6470, Jabra Dial 550 or Jabra Motion Office the preferred softphone selected in Jabra Direct will overrule the selected softphone on the device itself.

    • How do I pair my Jabra Speak 510 with two Bluetooth devices at the same time?

      Requirements

      • Firmware 2.7.0 or newer

      When connected to two Bluetooth devices, the last device you pair with will be considered the primary one and is the only one where you can use voice dialing (if supported by your device) from the speakerphone.
      The redial function (if supported by your device) will only work on the device where you last made an outgoing call.

      The speakerphone supports multiple call handling from two devices.

      Note: The speakerphone will always try to connect to your primary device first.

      1. Ensure that Bluetooth is enabled on your device.
      2. Make sure your speakerphone is turned on.
      3. To pair with the first device (secondary device), press and hold (2 seconds) the Bluetooth button.


      4. Follow your device's Bluetooth pairing instructions and pair with the speakerphone. If asked for a passkey or PIN, use 0000 (4 zeros).
      5. To pair with a second device (primary device), press and hold (2 seconds) the Bluetooth button.

      6. Follow your device's Bluetooth pairing instructions and pair with the speakerphone. If asked for a passkey or PIN, use 0000 (4 zeros). 

      You have now paired with two devices. It can take up to 1 minute for the speakerphone to automatically connect with the paired devices. If the speakerphone stalls on connecting to your mobile device, connect to it from your mobile device Bluetooth menu.

    • How do I set my Jabra headset as the default headset in Cisco Jabber?

      Requirements

      If using Cisco Jabber below version 9.6, Jabra software is needed to have call control.

      Cisco needs to be selected as the default Softphone in the Jabra software.
      Choose either Cisco or Standard softphone.

      It is recommended to install Jabra software after the Cisco Jabber client is installed.

      1. Install Jabra software.
      2. Open Cisco Jabber.
      3. Click on File and choose Options.


      4. Click on Audio.

      5. Set the Jabra headset as the default audio device for Speaker, Microphone and Ringer/Alerts. Click Apply and OK.

    • How do I update the firmware on my Jabra Device?

      Requirements

      To check for firmware and update your Jabra Device you need to have Jabra Direct installed.

      For some Jabra Link EHS adapters you need a micro USB cable to connect the adapter to the PC.

      Please follow these steps:

      1. Open Jabra Direct.
      2. If a firmware update is available for your Jabra device this will be indicated on the main screen.



      3. To update or to manually check for new firmware click on the Firmware Updater icon.

       

      4. The Jabra Direct Firmware Updater will open in a new window.
      5. Select your device and click on the Next button.



      Note: To update devices like e.g. Jabra Motion or Jabra Stealth they need to be connected directly to the PC with a USB cable.

      6. Click on the Download button and when the download is done click on the Next button.

       

      7. Follow the on-screen instructions. Do not unplug your device while preforming a firmware update.

      Note: If using a Jabra USB dongle with your device e.g. Jabra Motion UC or Jabra Stealth UC it is recommended to update both the headset and dongle at the same time. The PC must be connected to the internet to download the latest firmware.

    • Why is it important to update headset firmware?

      Requirements

      Firmware updates usually improve performance and sometimes add new functionality to your device.
      For some Jabra Link EHS adapters you need a micro USB cable to connect the adapter to the PC.

      To check for new firmware, please follow these steps:

      1. Open Jabra Direct.
      2. If a firmware update is available for your Jabra device, this will be indicated on the main screen.



      3. To update or to manually check for new firmware click on the Firmware Updater icon.



      4. The Jabra Direct Firmware Updater will open in a new window.
      5. Select your device and click on the Next button.



      Note: To update devices like e.g. Jabra Motion or Jabra Stealth they need to be connected directly to the PC with a USB cable.

      6. Click on the Download button, and when the download is done click on the Next button.



      7. Follow the on-screen instructions. Do not unplug your device while preforming a firmware update.

      Note: If using a Jabra USB dongle with your device e.g. Jabra Motion UC or Jabra Stealth UC it is recommended to update both the headset and dongle at the same time. The PC must be connected to the internet to download the latest firmware.
