  • What is the difference between the standard UC models and the models that are certified for Microsoft Skype for Business?

    ​The models that are certified for Microsoft Skype for Business (Lync), support Microsoft Skype for Business in Plug and Play mode. These models support features to answer and end calls, adjust volume, and mute.

    If you are not using Microsoft Skype for Business, use the standard UC model.

    To set up features for remote call control and presence status, install Jabra Direct.

  • How do I reset my Jabra Supreme?

    When you reset your Jabra Supreme, the list of devices that have been paired with it is cleared. Follow these steps to reset:

    1. Turn on your Jabra Supreme by flipping the boom arm to the ”on” position.
    2. Simultaneously press and hold (5 seconds) the Answer/end button and the Volume up button until the battery and Bluetooth lights flash.



    3. Turn off your Jabra Supreme by flipping the boom arm to “off” position. Your Jabra Supreme is now reset. When you turn it on again, it will be ready to pair.

    Note: When your Jabra Supreme has been reset, you will need to re-pair it with your mobile phone. Remember to delete the previous pairing before you re-pair.

      Prerequisites

      Jabra Direct will try to set the default softphone automatically. To manually change the softphone to Microsoft Skype for Business, follow these steps:

      1. Open Jabra Direct.
      2. Click Settings.



      3. Scroll down and expand Softphone (PC).
      4. In Preferred softphone, select Microsoft Skype for Business, and then click Apply.



      5. Start Microsoft Skype for Business.
      6. Select Options.

      8. In Audio device, select your Jabra device.



      9. To test the audio for the Speaker or Ringer, click the green play icons, and then click OK.
      10. Jabra Direct will state that the Jabra device and Microsoft Skype for Business are ready to use.



      Note: Make sure your softphone is active and logged in, so it is available in Jabra Direct. See a full list of compatible softphones on www.jabra.com/direct.

    • Why does my Jabra headset not announce the caller's name during incoming calls?

      Make sure that your phone supports the Bluetooth phonebook access profile (PBAP) and that the name of the caller is stored in your phone book.

      Note that on some mobile phones, a warning message about access to the phone book appears in the top left corner. You must select this message and then agree to the connection in order for the caller ID feature to function properly.

      See the following prerequisites:

      • Your mobile phone supports the Bluetooth Phone Book Access Profile (PBAP).
      • During pairing, you must have allowed access to your phone book.
      • The calling number must be associated with a stored contact in the phone book.
      • The incoming call is not from an unknown, unlisted, or blocked caller.

      Note: Japanese only supports number readout. Chinese is supported only in Chinese Simplified.

    • Why do I hear static noise?

      Bluetooth is a radio technology, so it is sensitive to objects that are placed between paired devices and can block radio signals. To avoid poor sound quality, it is recommended that the distance between paired devices does not exceed 33 feet (10m), and that objects placed between the devices is avoided.

      The following are examples of objects that can block radio signals:

      • Walls
      • Doors
      • Windows
      • Environments with massive presence of Wi-Fi

      Low battery capacity in the Jabra headset and mobile phone may also affect the range.

      Note: Some Jabra headsets support a longer range, but are dependent on the mobile phone that it is paired with.

      All wireless devices may be susceptible to interference which may affect performance. To eliminate static, try the following steps:

      1. Keep the headset on the same side of your body as your mobile phone.
      2. Avoid placing your mobile phone in a back pocket.
      3. Make sure there is a direct line of sight between your headset and phone. The Bluetooth signal may have difficulty transmitting through walls and other objects. Static or interference is sometimes environmental and can be caused by for example, computers, microwave ovens, and Wi-Fi.

    • Why do I experience low range when connected to my Jabra Link 360?

      The position of the Jabra Link 360 may affect its range. If it is connected, for example, to a desktop computer and then placed below a table, obstacles may interfere with the signal and reduce the range of the Jabra Link 360.

      Wi-Fi 2.4 GHz and other Bluetooth devices such as a keyboard, mouse, or printer may also interfere with the signal.

      If you experience low range, try the following solutions:

      • Place the Jabra Link 360, so it is level with the headset it is connected to.
      • If the Jabra Link 360 is placed, for example, below a table, use a USB extension cable to raise it, so it is level with the headset it is connected to.

      Note: When using an USB extension cable, make sure it supports data transfer, so the Jabra Link 360 will work properly.

      To support the maximum specified range between the adapter and headset, set the wireless range to "Normal".       3. Scroll down to Wireless range and select the appropriate setting.

      Prerequisites

      To check for firmware and update your Jabra device, you must have Jabra Direct installed on your PC. To update devices such as Jabra Motion or Jabra Stealth, they must be connected directly to the PC using a USB cable. For some Jabra Link EHS adapters, you may need a micro USB cable to connect the adapter to the PC. Follow these steps:

      1. Open Jabra Direct.
      2. If a firmware update is available for your Jabra device, this is indicated on the main screen.



      3. To update the firmware or manually check for new firmware, click the Firmware Updater icon.

      5. The Jabra Direct Firmware Updater opens in a new window.
      6. Select your Jabra device, and then click Next.



      7. Click Download. When the download is finished, click Next.

      Prerequisites

      Firmware updates usually improve the performance of your Jabra device, and sometimes they add new functionality.

      Note: To update some devices such as Jabra Link EHS adapters, Jabra Motion, or Jabra Stealth, they need to be connected directly to your PC by using a micro USB or USB cable.

      To check for new firmware, follow these steps:

      1. Open Jabra Direct.
      2. If a firmware update is available for your Jabra device, this is indicated on the main screen.



      3. To update the firmware, or to manually check for new firmware, click the Firmware Updater icon.



      4. The Jabra Direct Firmware Updater opens in a separate window.
      5. Select your Jabra device, and then click Next.

    • Best practices for rechargeable batteries

      These guidelines apply to the use of batteries in general, and do not apply specifically to their use with Jabra headsets. To preserve and store rechargeable batteries, use the following guidelines:

      • Avoid placing batteries in direct sunlight.
      • Avoid placing batteries in extreme cold.
      • Do not store batteries for extended periods without recharging them, around every 3 months for most products.
      • In daily use, it is best to return the headset to the charging base when it is not in use.
      • Always return the headset to the charging base overnight.
      • Note that HD Voice/Wideband consumes slightly more battery than Narrowband.

      If you handle or store rechargeable batteries incorrectly, their lifetime may be reduced.

    • What is the difference between the standard UC models and the models that are certified for Microsoft Skype for Business?

      ​The models that are certified for Microsoft Skype for Business (Lync), support Microsoft Skype for Business in Plug and Play mode. These models support features to answer and end calls, adjust volume, and mute.

      If you are not using Microsoft Skype for Business, use the standard UC model.

      To set up features for remote call control and presence status, install Jabra Direct.

    • Can I use my headset while it is charging?

      For safety reasons, you should not use your headset while it is charging. Allow it to charge fully, disconnect it from the charger, and then your headset is ready for use.
