Why do I experience low range when connected to the Jabra Link Bluetooth adapter?

Why do I experience low range when connected to the Jabra Link Bluetooth adapter?

The position and location of the Jabra Link Bluetooth adapter may affect the Bluetooth range or impact audio quality. If the Jabra Link Bluetooth adapter is connected, for example, to a desktop computer and then placed below a table, obstacles may interfere with the signal and reduce the range.

Some laptop designs may have noisy electronic components fitted close to USB ports. This may create electronic interference (EMC) with USB ports, which could impact the audio experience when connected to the Jabra Link Bluetooth adapter.

If the Jabra Bluetooth headset or speakerphone is connected to additional devices such as a mobile device, radio interference may limit available Bluetooth radio channels. Wi-Fi 2.4 GHz and other Bluetooth devices such as a keyboard, mouse, or printer may also interfere with the signal.

If you experience low range, try the following solutions:

    • Place the Jabra Link Bluetooth adapter at a level where there is line of sight or few obstacles between it and the Jabra headset or speakerphone.
    • If there are additional USB ports on the computer, try placing the Jabra Link Bluetooth adapter in a different USB port location.
    • A shielded USB extension cable will increase the distance to potential electronic noise from the computer, and thereby minimize performance impact on the Jabra Link Bluetooth adapter.

    Note

When using a USB extension cable, make sure it supports data transfer, so the Jabra Link Bluetooth adapter will work properly.
