Can I use public IPv4 addresses to pair the video bar and touch controller on networks that also support IPv6?

Can I use public IPv4 addresses to pair the video bar and touch controller on networks that also support IPv6?

No, public IPv4 addresses cannot be used to pair the video bar and touch controller on networks that also support IPv6. This limitation is due to changes in the pairing service introduced in Value Pack 3, firmware versions 6.5.0-7 and 6.5.2-1.

We are working on a solution that is targeted for the next firmware update for the PanaCast 50 VBS. This update will allow pairing even when public IPv4 addresses are assigned to both the video bar and the touch controller.

    Note
Private IPv4 addresses, which are used for local networks, fall within these ranges:

    • 10.0.0.0 to 10.255.255.255
    • 172.16.0.0 to 172.31.255.255
    • 192.168.0.0 to 192.168.255.255
