How to manually recover or firmware update a Jabra device


In the below example we will use the Jabra Engage 75.
Same process applies for other products.

1. First go the Jabra support pages www.jabra.com/support and browse for your specific product and select it.

2. On the support page for your specific product, ensure you select the correct variant that matches your specific device.

Note:
You cannot update your device to another variant than what it was manufactured as. E.g. if a specific UC or MS variant is available, you cannot change a UC variant to a MS variant and vice versa.


3. Go to the ‘Updates for your Jabra Engage 75 Mono’ section.


4. Download the firmware file to your desktop.

Note:
The firmware file is the same for Windows and macOS.


5. Open Jabra Direct and click on ‘Updates’.

6. While being in the 'Updates' menu, press and hold the ‘CTRL’ + ‘SHIFT’ + ‘U’ button on your computer keyboard.

Next, click ‘Update from File’.

Important!
If the ‘Recover’ button is already visible, please click this and proceed to step 8. You do not have to press and hold the ‘CTRL’ + ‘SHIFT’ + ‘U’ button in this case.


7. Browse and select the firmware file downloaded in step 4.

8. The firmware recovery/update process will now start.

Important!
Do not unplug the device from the USB port during this process.

9. Once the recovery/update process is done, follow the onscreen instructions. Some devices will simply reboot, while other devices needs to be unplugged from the USB port and reconnected again.
